I'm all set to purchase this phone; however, there are a few people on Phonescoop stating that they have reception problems. Just wondering if anyone has had the phone for a few days - and have completely tested it (or will have it for a few days)? I'd be curious if you are just as much enamored with it after a few days use as you first were when you got it. Looking for positive/negative feedback.
Thanks

I ended up trading the 8300 back in for the 8100. The deciding factor was reception. Today was the first day I used the 8300 extensively (work). Had some major reception problems in areas that I've never had a problem before. When I got home I searched some other forums and found lots of other complaints about reception with the 8300. Also, after flipping the phone open several times, the earpiece was already getting loose at the hinges. After comparing the 8100 and 8300 side by side, the 8100 is a much better built phone. So if anyone is thinking about buying the 8300, keep in mind that Verizon has a 15 day satisfaction return policy. Don't hesitate to use it!!

I traded my 4500 (trimode) to the 8300 and have not seen any appreciable difference in reception.

I upgraded from the LG VX4400 and I'm very pleased. Pardon me, but I cannot imagine how anyone can think the 8100 is a better built phone than the 8300.
It's terrific.

i'm in a more rural area where coverage is here, but not much...and i've gotten better coverage with my 8300 than i ever got with my 8100. i used to have to be in my bed, or at one spot at my kitchen table, now i can walk freely around my house and talk without worry of dropping the call.
so, my personal experience is better coverage with the 8300 than the 8100 ever offered.

I have had problems with handset volume, but not reception. The volume fades in and out during calls. It can be almost inaudible and then can be perfect. I am not sure how to fix this. One person recommended turning off Call Privacy, which has helped. Anyone else have this problem?
