Ready to upgrade from my way old LG 4400 and would like some opinions on these 2 phones. I know the LG is not out yet (June 5, I think) and the Motorola has been around for a while. As for the Motorola, all the user and professional reviews I have read (enough to make my eyeballs hurt) are highly rated with very little negative. However, the LG is relatively new on the web, so I have based my thoughts on reviews of the LG 8100, which is also highly rated. However, the LG 8100 is consistently rated slightly behind the Motorola. My experience with my current, way outdated LG has been exceptional. I am leaning toward the LG, but with no real track record out there on the VX8300, I am just not sure. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have the Motorola E815 and I don't experience any reception problems. I don't use the phone for the other features so I can't comment on that... my cousin has the LG8100 and every other time I call him he has to call me back because he has reception problems with his phone. I think he likes it for the features. I would suggest getting the Motorola... but if you haven't experienced too many problems with the LG then I would say stick with the LG.

I just upgraded from the 4400 to the 8300 last week. It's terrific! You won't go wrong.

Im trying to upgrade myself, I got a free razr a while ago and HATE it, im gonna sell it, and buy either a moto E815, LG 8100 or 8300, Ive even looked at older models..
What is it about the 8300 that should reel me in? Is it easy to transfer songs frmo your PC to your phone?
Is the screen easy to read, or..easier to read in sunlight than others?
Let me know PLEASE!

I upgraded our two Verizon phones about one week ago. I was deciding between three phones, the 8300, the Moto E815 and the Razr v3m.
What won it for the 8300 was:
- Solid build quality - gives me confidence, less worry if one drops it, long lasting. It's simply well put together.
- Ease of use - everything is where it should be and the learning curve is small. Even my gadget-challenged wife has picked it up with ease. She also loves the looks, which encourages her to play with it.
- Phone function - call sound quality is excellent, good phone signal, mp3s sound very good (I'm a Mac guy so I switched the phone from wma to mp3; don't think one can do that on the Razr v3m, and I don't know about the E815), battery life is great.
- The way it feels in my hand. It just fits and I can do everything with one hand.
While the Razr is a great looking phone, the 8300 is no ugly duckling and it fits easily into my pocket. I think the E815 looks a bit long in the tooth.
Finally, much of the research I did pointed to fairly serious problems with the Razr. While at least some of those problems have been fixed by now, I have had terrific success with LG phones (VX4400 and TM510 previously) all along. The E815 has a good reputation.
Frankly, they're all good phones, but for the above reasons, I bought two 8300's.
Farewell!
