The Nokia 6280 is a (plain) phone.
Series 40 3rd Edition.
Nearly all Java apps & games (.jar) should work.
Max. Jar-size: 500kb
.sis apps & games won't work at all and you can't convert them.

There are alot more free apps.
Like you can see at www.getjar.com
But the 6280 won't be listed for most apps because it is too new, but quite all should work since the phone has MIDP 2.0

The 6280 isn't a smartphone and there are no viruses for non-smartphones.

Smartphones have multitasking capabilities, they can run apps in the background. This is not possible on a plain Series 40 phone like your 6280. If you exit an app, it is closed (on Smartphone apps keep on running if you close the app with the red "hang up" button (you've got to exit them properly on a smartphone) while on normal phones apps apps get closed by this).
The worst "virus" which exists for Series 40 phones is an app that sends SMS to an expensive short number. You gotta be really stupid no to see this happening when starting the app and stop it.
Mor informations about this "virus":
http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/redbrowser_a.shtml
And if it is on your phone, you can just de-install it.
Apps on a normal phone can't access files outside "their world" - they have a restricted enviroment on the phone. They neither can access or delete any files nor red any information like your phonebook.
A list of all mobile viruses:
http://www.f-secure.com/wireless/threats/
As you can see nearly all of them are for Symbian OS, some for PocketPC and Palm and only this tiny one which is for Java.

Every newer phone has a build-in recording function.
It can be activated while making the call within the options menu.
But there will be a beep every few seconds due to legal issues (in nearly all countries it is illegal to record call without the other one knowing it).
