Is it just me or does it really looks like a blunt action movie?
And the guy who plays James Bond... neither sexy nor charismatic

there seem to be many complaints about the new blond bond. I'll have to see it first. I heard he's not going to have as many "gadgets." I guess that could lend itself to a more generic action-style movie.

It's supposed to be a prequel, before he was actually "007." So back in the old days he wouldn't have all of the techie stuff.
But I hold no opinion of it one way or the other. It's not Sean Connery so its not Bond.

"Prequal" to what? James Bond is active for so many years now, there can't be a prequal
The trailer just looks to plain.
Connery IS Bond, but Pierce Brosnan was good to in my opinion.
I have one Bond on DVD "Die Another Day" - I think it's a good mix between gadget (which I love), Bond and action.

Apparently, to become a "00" (double 'o') you have to assasinate 2 people. This is after Bond has done his first, and we are to assume in the movie he gets his 2nd.

The James Bond character is just like Batman. It can be replaced by other actors. Pierce Brosnan was just settling into the role (and being one of the better Bond), but then he got axed. But I never saw Timothy Dalton as Bond. Who knows, maybe this new guy might be good. I thought he was alright in Tombraider...but then again, I am talking about Tombraider. The only good thing I saw from that movie was Angelina Jolie running.

more bond news:
| Quote: |
If you've ever wondered why so many Hollywood blockbusters cost millions upon millions of dollars to produce, here's another tick you can keep in consideration. In a single day of filming for the upcoming "Casino Royale" James Bond movie, they destroyed not one, not two, but three Aston Martins valued at $300,000 a piece. And it's not like the nearly one million dollars worth of automotive goodness can be recovered either, because they've smashed them into pieces.
While they probably could have just destroyed some DB7s -- most people can't tell the difference anyways -- they opted to destroy a trio of Aston Martin DBS sports cars. What a shame... though, it's good to hear that "in the style of 007, our stunt driver walked away without a scratch."
An interesting side story to this whole thing is that there is a rumor floating about that Daniel Craig, the actor that plays Agent 007 in the new Bond film, didn't know how to drive a standard transmission and as a result, burned out a clutch on one of the Aston Martins during filming. No confirmation, of course.
