. "This should be BREACH OF CONTRACT on their part. As for me, when this contract expires, I will move to a land line. I never had dropped calls on it, unless a hurricane had destroyed the lines. "

Wrong. The contract specifically states that 100% service is NOT guaranteed for the same reason that wireless microphone makers won't guarantee 100% service. Yer putting a signal through thin air! Lots of variables are involved in that process. I've always said that if we'd demand better technology for our wireless phones and be willing to pay for it, we'd get better service. But nooo, we're more interested in camera phones, music phones, TV phones. And we're willing to pay for and put up with mediocre (get a dictionary) quality from those features, but oh hell no, we want perfect phone service from a phone that's barely worth 29 cents. And it's the carriers fault for pushing these none-essential features as well as our fault for not saying "No, give us better phone service, we'll buy our own toys, thank you very much."
And for your info, during Katrina, the cellphone services were up and running much faster than the lanlines. I know because I was THERE. And it was a little state-area service, Cellular South that was up in almost in a day and a half while the other carriers struggled to get back into service.

When we stop willy-nilly screaming "my phone ain't working" and look into why we are where we are today with regard to mobile phone technology, we understand better why things are as they are today and what it will take to get better service. Frankly, I doubt it's gonna get much better knowing society's attitudes today.

Yeah, first thing I hear from nearly all of my customers, is do you have any flip phones with a camera in it. Personally give a bar phone that works almost everywhere in the US and I'll be happy.

At times, when I'm away from home, using Cingular / AT&T , I am on a Rogers network, depending on the areas I'm traveling. I also experienced no dropped calls. Seems funny, being a sister company to Cingular. Maybe there is some truth to this advertisement, . well, for you and I, anyways.

I would like to mention, I have had some issues with voice mail, dropped calls, and weak or lossed signals on numerous occasions since the AT&T - Cingular merger. I am not happy with this, but I hope they will get the issues addressed soon.

I would also like to mention, my impression of AT&T isn't a good one at this point. It seems their phones never come with anything more than a battery and 1 charger. Maybe I'm nit-picking, but maybe other companies care about the customer more than AT&T does ? I also noticed, some of the free phones went up to 99 bucks after the merger. I was going to grab one of the razr v3xx models, but there were a couple choices of ugly, and the platinum was 129 bucks. I convinced myself to grab the black, since it was free again, but.darn, it's out of stock. a week later, it's back in stock, and back to 99 bucks. So, with the platinum at 129, and the uglies at 99, I grabbed the KRZR K1 for 99 bucks. Sure seems like flakey business to me.

this is exactly what geriO was talking about people care more about features ands looks of a phone than , how well will it work , whats the functionality of it? if your that imprtant and need email on your phone get a PDA

yes i have a ton of features on my phone and i dont use half of them , i can wait till i get home to read my email, i pay alot of money for my cable modem , i picked it out because i never heard anything bad about it in the first 90 day sof its realse, and i get maybe maybe 1 dropped call a month

BigRUSS, I agree 100%. When I was going to buy my razr v3, 2 years ago, I was telling my friend, the "wow" factor or cool factor would be over in a week or 2, so this phone better get good reception and sound good, which it did. I remember flashing the v3 when i originally bought it, and the mod was supposed to give better reception, among a few other things, like scroll faster and so on. It worked great for me, and I'm not even sure if the mod did anything for it.

This new K1 I have now seems nice, and like the v3, I don't do much else but make calls, and it does that quite well so far. My friends are impressed with the sound quality when I call them. I haven't had any reception issues yet, but as I mentioned before, AT&T has had some issues, IMO, lately, so time will tell.

I tried to find easy, unconfusing info on mods for the K1, but find myself getting more confused, so my K1 is not modded as of yet.

Why are spammers posting here saying they are new?
Anyways, as for fewest dropped calls, the terms of service for EVERY customer says no service is ever going to work period. All companies are the same way. I personally have maybe had three dropped calls in the nearly two years I've had service, so I can pretty much vouch it's good service.

Oh, and did you all miss me? icon_wink.gif
