I had the V220 before my new V557 and when I had the phone opened up I notice that the light on the "outside" or "face" call ID clock screen would be on.
I just noticed that my 557 doesnt do the same thing during a call.
It will show "Cingular" but not light up? Any ideas how to fix it?

Does it ever light up the new screens on phones shut down even during calls inside and out to save power the 65,000 color screens and above on motorola's do turn black. they don't jsut turn the light off. if you press a button or first flip it open or a call is incomming the screens should light up for a short period 20 seconds after it stops ringing etc.

When I had my v220 the outer screen lit up when flipped opene (not even making a call yet - just open). Since this is a near relative of the v220 I expected a similar outcome to where the screen would light up when flipped open.

does it light up tho? if it doesn't light up at all or you can never see it there is a possibility that it is not working right.. 30 days you can exchange it or after 30 days to 1 year you can get warranty exchange dept to fix it for you if it's cingular.

No, the v557 screen on the outside does not light up - everything else is ok. Yes, it's Cingular.

for v557 when You open the light goes off, so need to worry
