EVDO or Evolution Data Only/Evolution Data Optimized (often abbreviated as EVDO, EV-DO, EvDO, 1xEV-DO or 1xEvDO) provides fast wireless broadband access (3G) internet service directly to your phone. If you want to surf the web, etc., it's great. If not, turn it off and extend battery life.
I'm confused. I pay the $5.00 fee for surfing the web. I have the "1x" selected, but I can still get on the web.
I selected HDR and voicemails cannot be made in that mode but I can still get on the web.
I put it back to 1x but I'm still failing to understand what it's all about. I'll search the web again.
When you talk about surfing the web, could this have something to do with surfing through your computer with bluetooth?
Be nice to me. My retarded brain cells seem to be acting up again. LOL!

i follow the instruction to enable mp3 music on my 8300, but the music i copied to my micro sd card under my mp3 folder still not regognized by the device, it keep telling me that "music is not available"
I called verizon wireless, and got a very funny conversation! The guy fr VZW told me that if i wanted to play mp3 on my phone, i have to figure it out by myself. They will not provide any support because the company wanted us to pay for Vcast!!! it's sucks, isnt it?
anyone who has already set up mp3 player on vx8300 please show me how to get that thing work
what i've done so far is :
- enable mp3 music
- assign the front key to my music
what is the next step?
thank u in advance

Did you place your music directly in the mp3 folder? There cannot be any subfolders. They have to be loosely placed in the mp3 file.
This next tip sounds very obvious, but it can easily be missed: The music isn't in the "My music" directory on the phone. It's in the mp3 directory under "Get it now">>>Get tunes and tones. It's easy to miss because it's # eight on the list and you have to scroll down to see it.

Ok so i just got this phone a week ago and I have been trying to decide what i need to buy for it. And please forgive me, I dont know much about computer formatting and all that smart talk LOL. What is the best and simplest way to set my music from my computer for my ringtones and just to listen to music? Should i buy an SD Micro card? Or is there a cheaper and simpler way? I mainly just want the music for my ringtones because i have an ipod so i dont really need my phone to listen to music but i really want ringtones just from music i have on my computer. All of my music is in itunes. Does anyone know what format itunes is in? I would appreciate the help! Thanks! PS I already set my phone to enable MP3 music.

I just loaded a bunch of MP3s and they play just fine from the remapped play button on the cover. Then you can open the case and manage the files from there. But is it possible to launch the player from the menu? I've tried a couple of options and it wants to connect to Vcast each time. I apologize if this has been covered already but I couldn't find it.

Go to the beginning of this thread and read the helps. That should do it. You'll need Audacity and Lamelib (both free), but that's all at the front of this thread.

Press OK (Menu) and then scroll to GET IT NOW. Choose #1 (Get Tunes & Tones), and then choose #8 (My MP3s), and there they are.

Anytime I e-mail myself a ringtone it tells me to go to vzwpix and set up an account so i can view media messages on my pc. Anyone know how to turn this off so media messages can go straight to my phone.
I have this same problem, and I've noticed a couple of people that have mentioned it on this forum, and the question thus far seems to have gone unanswered. I followed all of the instructions listed, and everything worked flawlessly, up until the point that I get the message on my phone, and it directs me to the vzwpix.com website to view the content. I sent the file via my yahoo! mail plus account, and it was only 257k, so I don't think it has anything to do with that. I have a prepay account with Verizion, and I have a feeling that it may have something to do with this, but I'm unsure. I have Auto Receive turned on in my Pix-Flix message settings. I also have MP3 enabled via the service code menu.
Another question: can somebody fill me in on what BitPim and/or QPST do? This is my first phone, and I've heard mention of them on the forum, and I'm intrigued, I just don't know what they are. If there is some sort of FAQ I could be directed to, that would be fine, too.
Thanks for all the help thus far, and any help with this issue!
