It supports AVI, DivX, Xvid, VOB, and Mpeg. And for large files you can use the Split Size option to cut it into watchable chunks. Then copy the created files into your MYFLIX folder. Note if your video gets interrupted you'll go back to the beginning of the file, so unless you're on an airplane or watching just clips you may want to use the split option.
For converting MP3 to WMA (and vice versa) I used Free Mp3 Wma Converter (also downloaded from CNET http://www.download.com/Free-Mp3-Wma-Converter/3000-2140_4-10505512.ht ml ) It supports MP3, WMA, OGG, AAC, Ape, and M4A. It allows you to set the output quality to conserve space or improve sound.
Just FYI, I use a 1GB (SanDisk) SD Micro card with an SD adapter on my PC to copy the files into the folders.
Happy Viewing!

The Rever - You've been a great help, thank you so much! I'll try the things you suggest as soon as I get a chance.

[quote="I use BitPim and the ringtones won't seem to stick with my phone. One ringtone will be sent to the phone but the others wont. So I had mp3s on it as well, I woke up this morning and they're miraculously gone as well as the one ringtone that made it onto the phone. I have a 1gig MicroSD card. Anybody else have this problem? Or a solution?
Thanks[/quote]
I am having the same problem! Does anyone have a suggestion? thanks in advance

kmf . . . I have transferred several songs from my pc to my 8300. However, I have not been able to create playlists. I'd like to be able to keep songs together by the artist. Any info you can provide would be much appreciated.

Unless you have the newest firmware (version 2 - and not all Verizon stores have it yet), you can make true playlists only with wma and not with mp3.
The best I've come up with concerning mp3 is the following:
Rename each song so the first few letters are an indication of the album the song is on. For instance, a song "battlefield" on the cd album "Bring Us Back" would read as filename "bub_battlefield". All succeeding songs on the album will begin with "bub_". This will at least keep all the songs grouped together with their own albums. You still have to click through them, but the songs individually aren't all over the map, if you know what I mean.
And have you looked at the helps found at the beginning of this link?
Farewell!

sweet thread!!
so, i have a clip in the "my sounds" directory on my phone (an 8300). i want it as a ringtone. (my husband's new samsung a870 will allow this for distinctive ring - no work around needed.) i tried to "move" the file, but it complains that i have no media card. it there a FREE way of doing this? the midi is on the stinkin' phone!
if i have a data cable or an sd card in the future, will i be able to add ringtones to my phone without paying $.25 each time (the email cost)? i'd rather pay someone else for a cable than verizon for an (or many) email. just me.
thanks for the help.
