After 2 hrs of work, finally got it going.

I am using Mac OS X Tiger, Bitpim, Bluetooth.

Put phone in discovery mode (settings, Bluetooth, Options, discovery mode on (will only remain in this mode for 1 min, do not need to turn off later, good feature))

You do not need to enable MP3 through secret menu, this is already enabled on new firmware.

Edit mp3 to 30 seconds and set bitrate accordingly. You WILL NOT be putting in my music or ringtones folder, so Bitpim will not convert it.

Save to the following direcotyr:

brew/16452/lk/mr

Power-cycle the phone. Go to Settings, Sounds, Ringers and you will see the mp3 in the list.

That's it. Enjoy all the quarters saved!

We have several phones here at my place of business. Actually your idea for setting up the MP3 player on the phone worked for one of our phones but my particular phone wont work. i tried to enable the Mp3 player and when i select music settings it says no service available. and there is no choice for the play button on the front to be able to change it. i got to looking at the software versions on the two phones and realized that his phone has an older revision number than mine. any ideas about this newer version of software and how to set up the MP3 option would be great.
thanks,
Gfrost

I absolutely love this phone. the ONLY problem i have had, is when i connect an earpeice to the phone. I have used several different makes and models of earpeices, and i always have the same problem. when i make the first call after connecting the pairing the earpeice, no one can hear me. i can hear them, but they cant here me. its almost like it is muted. then i hang up, call back, and they can hear me fine.It also does this after the i havent made a call in about 30 or so min. I have changed the baud rate, and we'll see how that works, but if anyonehas experienced the same proble, please let me know. thanx!

F.Y.I. Call Waiting is a feature that is free to Verizon Wireless customers. If you don't have it already on your phone, here's how to get it.
1. Go to Settings & Tools
2. Select "My Account" (FREE)
3. Then select #5 (My features)
Follow the instructions from there which will show you how to add or remove features from your cell phone.

I tried that. It asks for my zip code, and then tells me that my balance and account features are not available on the hand set. Does anyone know what that means? BTW, my hubby and I both got these phones, and call waiting on his phone works. But mine goes straight to voice mail.

New problem.
When my phone is in my pocket or on the holster it appears the front keys must get bumped and all of a sudden music starts playing. Anyone out there have the same problem? Is there a way to get around this?

For that to happen, the play button on the front would have to have been pressed and held down for more than a second. It wouldn't happen if either the forward or reverse buttons were held down, only the center button. After that, the play button would have to be pressed again. A bump won't do all of that.

If all that happened, then you've got some serious pressing going on, or something like that. Having the buttons on the front do what they do when they do it is a great benefit for most of us, but not in your case.

If it happens a lot (and you cannot live with it), then I recommend you carry the phone somewhere else. Otherwise, it is what it is.

Ok so the video camcorder is pretty good on this phone, but thats only when you have decent light. for the camera you can use the flash which works pretty well. i have a friend who has a similar samsung phone that can turn on the flash while recording videos. I was wondering if anyone knew if this was possible with the LG? I haven't been able to find this option but if anyone has advice please reply.

I am having issues playing my own music on my phone. I'm using a microSD card and putting MP3 files (I've attempted WMA as well) in the my_music folder. (Yes, I formatted it as well) There was no my_mp3(s) folder.
I inserted the card into the phone. The VCast music player does not recognize any of the music files on the card, nor does it seems to notice the ones moved to the phone itself.
Stranger still, I moved a song (MP3) to the my_sounds folder then I played it from there. It worked fine. Can anyone help me? I've checked around several other places, but the conditions only slightly differ from my own problem.
