I also have a company phone that does not allow me to receive attachments to my phone. I bought a microSD card and have put mp3 wav and midi into my sounds, my music, and my mp3. I cant find an option to set as ringtone. I even tried creating a My Ringtones folder on the SD card. I read a bunch of threads and this is the first time anyone has had the same problem as me.

So, using Audicity to edit my music file to use as a ringtone, and exporting it as an mp3 file to my desktop, then sending it to my phone actually worked.until recently. For some reason, when I do the exact same steps I've done before, the mp3 is received by my phone, but will not play. Does anyone have any idea why this all of a sudden happened?
Also, I tried emailing one of the exact file I had sent to my phone before when this process worked.and that file which worked before, no longer plays on my phone.

not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but lately my phone shuts down as soon as another call beeps in during call waiting. it doesn't happen all that much, but once or twice is still a pain in the ass! i will be on the phone then someone will call and then my phone will shut down and not go to voice mail. if the person waits long enough for my phone to start back up it will start ringing automatically. but if they decide to hang up before that i have no record of them calling. they will not show up on my missed call list. and it happens so fast that there is no way i can catch there number in time before the phone shuts down. i have an 8300 with firm ver. 1 and the evdo feature shut off. don't know if that is the reason for this problem? if anyone has heard of this or it's happened to them and they found a fix for it please help me. thanks.

Heyy guys,
This problem has most likely been covered in the past 48 pages of posting but I hope I'm not beating it to death.
On my relatively new LG VX8300, I've stopped recieving voicemail notifications. I've been researching about tips and tricks for a little while. I've tried updating with *228 and even *18. Whenever I call voicemail, the messages are all there. However, I have no other notifications of voicemails unless I feel like calling it every 20 minutes. As you can imagine this gets very annoying. Please Help!

"Step by step to enable mp3: Two part process.
To enable outside phone buttons to play mp3:
From main screen press OK and then the number 0 seven times (you’ll see a series of question marks disappear). Then scroll all the way down and press #11 (Music Setting). Finally, choose My mp3."
Okay, so I tried this and I get the message: NOT AVAILABLE! Must I purchase an activation of some sorts?
"To get MP3s to play, including ringtones – Press OK (Menu) and go to Settings and Tools, press 5 (phone settings), press 2 (shortcut key), press 5 (play key), and choose my mp3s."
I then tried this, thinking maybe I had to do this first, but no "play key," just "reset all"
Can anyone help me out here? Thanks in advance

Exact same problem here. I just got this phone today, and am trying to set mp3 ringtones. I was disappointed to find out that I can't do it by default. Then, I found this and was excited, but I have the same problems as the poster before me. Unavailable. argh!
Can anyone tell me how to enable mp3 ringtones without having to send them to myself?
