I bought a Kingston 2GB MicroSD card and it works fine in the VX 8300.

I believe you can use bitPIM and a data cable , to download all of your phone data to your computer and you can copy all of it back to your new card.

I've had much more luck just copying photos and mp3's to my MicroSD card without using the Vcast music manager. Photos go into the My Pix directory and Music in the My Music directory. For the music I used Windows Media player 11 to rip the tracks from the CDs and then copied them to the My Music directory on the MicroSD card. After the card is inserted into the phone, it recognized the songs.

Good Luck

There's a bug in the text message Drafts folder that hasn't been fixed in four version upgrades.

I frequently write long text messages, over 160 characters and have to split it into two manually since VZW will only deliver messages longer than that to other VZW phones. So I will write the first part of the message and save it in Drafts. Then I'll write the second part of the message and save that in Drafts as well. Then I go into the Drafts folder, open the first message and Send it. Go back into the Drafts to send the second message, but it's not there, only another copy of the first message!

I can only send both parts if I start at the end, so part two would have to be sent first, followed by part one.

Anyone else notice this? Highly annoying. Easily tested, just compose two text messages with the words "one" and "two" in the body. Once both are saved in Drafts, send "one" and then try to send "two" - see?

Can bugs be reported somewhere? Is that just on this phone or is this a VZW thing, since they all use the same or at least similar software?

Thanks,

Can anyone else not upload music to their phone? I tried in the music eddentials manager and on my Windows Media Player, but it won't work.

In MEM it says something about a secruity upgrade that I did, but did nothing to my phone.

And in WMP it just says it can't sync, even though it says it is sync'd.

For those having problems getting MP3's as ringtones- I just sat down and played with my new VX8300 (with version 4 software). I bought a Bitpim disc with USB cable drivers (very important) and USB cable off of ebay for about six bucks. When I first went to sync my contacts and ringers, a warning came up saying the "service provider has blocked this service" and I was bummed (those greedy verizon folks!). But then I found a patch link online that gets bitpim around the block and I am enjoying my fav song off of cd, converted to MP3 through Windows Media player, as my RING TONE! Woo hoo! I can't post a link in MobilMedia, but search the web for Sourceforge (dot net) and bitpim 1.0.2.20070828 together.

I have been able to sync my contacts and ringtones through Bitpim via copying and pasting and my phone still works (i've made and received calls and texts since). That's what has worked for me.

Ok, so what if one doesn't have texting abilities but has an SD card. Is it even possible to transfer ringtones from SD card to the Chocolate?

I've been searching around and haven't been able to do it.
