NOKIA 6682 vs SONY x810i // My 6682 sucks

I have a nokia 6682 and i am thinking of selling it for a Sony ericcson w810i.

CONS for my Nokia 6682, Any suggestions for improvement?
- i hate the blutooth feature: the files i recieve can't be used to send to others, i can't browse people's shared files (like Samsung t809) and all the files are recieved as text message; also when i am recieving a file, the phone doesn't save directly to memory card.
- the phone is rather... SLOW
- the phone doesn't have radio
- the phone can't play certain mp4s and much others...
- the phone mp3 playlists kind of sucks
- recording is 3GP (garbage quality)
- much of the java games dont' work as well on this phone, such as tower bloxx (tried many different versions)

Things I like in Sony ericcson
- better mp3 playlist, much like the ipod which is very well placed and organized
- 2 mega pixel camera
- made by sony
- RADIO <--- I NEED MY morning radio stations! (Sarah and no name!!)

can you please kindly give me suggestions to either improve my current phone or if i should switch?

If your going to use your cell phone for listening to the radio and and as a MP3 player, I'd suggest to replace your 6682 for a W810i. But if you're going to use your current phone for other things like installing apps or maybe watching movies, then I'd stick with the 6682.

Yeah, the 6682 doesn't have a radio. But you can download & install a radio app. However, it would be recommended to get an unlimited internet package because you'll be streaming when listening to your desired radio station. The OS, in my opinion, is alright...but of course, it's not lightning fast. Anything concerning MP3 playback (whether it be the playlist, sound quality and depth), the W series of SE stands way far out when compared to other cell phone brands (unless it does become reality that there is a going to be an iPod phone...I still have reservations about the ROKR E2), even though the 6682 does have Real Player. Also, its hard to beat SE's camera quality...considering it is a 2MP compared to the 6682's 1.3.

I was thinking about getting a 6682 before, but I decided to wait for the N80 because I read that it has better sound quality...and in my opinion, it looks a whole lot better. I thought that the 6682 looked a little feminine. So for the moment I "downgraded" to a 6230 because it has what I need, a radio and MP3 player...even though its MP3 player is clunky when compared to a W phone.

So if your an audiophile, hands down go for the W810i. Anything else, go for the 6682.

Thanks for your reply, I am really looking for ways to improve my phone before I really upgrade. How much is this phone worth? $200? Like new condition and comes with all packaging.

The 6682 is a good phone. You can do a lot of things with it because it is a smartphone. The W600i goes for $200 retail. As for buying the W810i, perhaps the cheapest price you can get it is on ebay for $400, around $300 if it's used or if it comes with just the phone. The SE website sells it for $500, as well as other online vendors. It's estimated that it will be released on Q3 of this year, so try and be patient. You'd save some money on the W810 if you were to sign up for a new account, or if you're eligible for upgrade when Cingular carries this phone. I was talking to a guy from SE, and he said that the date might be pushed back because of complications with the phone & the Cingular network. I don't believe him though because I think he's BSing.

If you're looking for another option, why not try out the Nokia N80. It has a Symbian OS & has better MP3 playback than the 6682. SE's before were my 1st option when getting a new phone (T637, S710, K750/W800, W600). But there's just too much stuff that you can do on a smartphone. Especially if you're just going to use it for entertainment purposes, you can install a movie player. Windows Mobile phones are also nice, but Nokia smartphones still try to retain that cell phone feel. That is what I'm eyeing at right now because I had the same situation...getting a 6682 right now, or wait for the W810. But now, N80 is my choice.

When I was gona buy mobile, i was confused that where should i go...Nokia 6682 or sony ericsson w810 i. and same case happened with my roomie.
Finally i bought 6682 and my roomie got w810.

NOw...Let me tell something about 6682, which is very unique features. It is smart phone, You have many softwares awailable for it. I have compare picture quality of 1.3 mp camera of nokia with sony ericsson and blive me its almost same..both r really good. I have plaid tower blox game...and you know in 64 mb i put almost more than 30 games...morethan 25 unique sofwares in nokia 6682. I also installed many media players, like window media player, dvx player, mp3 player. I have also many imaging sofwares, movie director and many unbeatable things in my mobile. I have some pda application and also Photolite and mobiola application which makes me to use my mobile as bluetooth webcam with my laptop. I found only disadvantage is fm..which nokia has taken out in this model..as they have internet radio..internet tv in phone. It has also its word sofware inside. In sound quality i will give 6682 70 points and ericsson 90 points.

but after installing power mp3 software I found amazing sound quality almost like ipod frm my nokia 6682. considerable negative point with nokia 6682 is its comparatively bulky ..thn sony ericsson but...in my point of view sony ericsson has feminine look

You know i am tht much impress with my phone tht i have put my ipod in bag as it takes my battery for running video, and my phone is just dealing it very easily:D. I also just ordered 1gb mmcmobile memory, but sony ericsson is also comparable and good mobile thouugh it is lacking in symbian operating system advantages:D. and yeh it is dealing with complex controls. Also I heard about problems in cingular wireless connection with sony ericsson models. IN other sense Nokia is more stable mobile;). Though decision upto u. MY roomie want to exchange my phone with his sony ericsson

I've had the Nokia 6682 and didn't like it that much. The internet was great big screen was great but other than that I love my W810i except the fact that I had several problems with the camera and still do.

I had problems with battery life and the camera. I sent it into Sony 5 times before they got the battery life right and they camera mostly right.

Battery use to only last a day and I don't talk that much. It last about 4 or 5 days now.

The camera works most of the time but sometime is just will not either focus or snap the photo. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem or not.
