Try selecting the option fix melody db.then go to tools select option get.after that put the volume you like to and select set.

If not try downloading again new p2k tools ana connect your phone before you go to p2k tools.

I have tryed different things, when it comes on the Get is on , but the set is blacked out, and will not come up where I can hit set.

Not sure what the problem is but try removing all the drivers you installed and motorola usb modem.
Download again new p2k tools
http://rapidshare.de/files/22660071/newp2k.rar.html
after you downloaded it go to p2k tools.Insert cable in phone.Install again all 4 drivers.Exit p2k tools.Unplug phone.then plug it again and wait some time a few seconds.Go to p2k tools and select switch to p2k mode if it isnt already selected.
I think then it is going to be everything ok.But before doing all this check now is it in p2k tools selected p2k mode.If isnt select it and then try again.If is not working do all this i said.Let me know was it successful.

ok so when i plug mine in it makes the sound that somethin is connected to the computer but nothing pops up...is there another way to get to the new found hardware window?

At what stage does this happen?
Do you see anything in device manager - unknown devices or motorola modem etc?
Go to http://developer.motorola.com/?path=1.2.6.30 and download motorola usb driver. Install this and run it on the clean and reinstall setting
