Hi Pixie,
Thanks for the tip, but I gave up with the software stories. If it s working for you, good on you then, otherwise I got another way to process that is working very well:
Remember the card you were talking about in a post earlier, this card is the removable memory card of your mobile, located on the back of your mobile, below the battery (you don t have to remove he battery), on the left of your SIM card. Ok?
You can easily remove this card but be careful cos it looks fragile. When you have removed your card you have to place it in the "motorola microSD adapter" which is supply with your phone (in a little plastic box) when you buy it, and then you plug the adaptor on the memory card reader of your pc.
Once it s plugged, you use your phone memory card like any memory card, you can move picture, video, music from your pc to any folder of your card. All that is very easy and doesn’t require any software or whatever. But once again, be careful when you transfer this memory card from your phone to the adaptor/pc, it looks small and quite fragile.
Why you only can load nine songs? Well this card when you buy the phone is only 64mb. It s probably possible to buy a card with more memory, have a look on the motorola website, but to be honest I don t even want to know the price... all depend if you really need it.
Ok, hope this will help you. Ask again if you are still in trouble.

It is possible that you may not need to remove your TF card from your V3i to transfer songs (and to load songs thru iTunes). Check your Connectivity Setting, and see if the Default Connection is Memory Card. If yes, once you plug the USB cable of your phone to the PC, your phone will be recognized as a Flash Drive. You will be able to save any type of file on your phone. Be careful though not to delete any of the default folders in your card. They are there for a reason. Hope this helps. To use MPT, switch the default connection back to Data/Fax Connection. That should do it.

thanks Dan, what you are saying is working very well and you got no chance to damage the card as long as you don t have to remove it.
thanks for the tip mate.

With a 64mb microSD memory card, you should be able to store more than 9 songs...unless you have really long songs and/or pictures, ringtones, and such also stored in your microSD card as well...
I tried an experiment to see how many songs I could load and it took 18 typical length songs, and I still had about 6mb free.

I had this exact same issue and found (in Windows' Hardware Manager) that during the upgrade of the software, phone tools had installed an extra modem called "standard modem". I deleted it and ran through the setup feature in phone tools to use the Motorola modem. Now everything works fine.
You can see what modem the software is setup to use by pressing F6 or choosing Menu > Setup > General Setup and clicking on the Communication tab. This is the same place you will change the selected modem.
Good luck.
