Hello,I just bought a Razr V3i & installed the Motorola Phone Tools software (Version 4.0) on my pc (windows XP). No problems, until suddenly the mobile apparently disconnected.
I have full reception, yet a message tells me it is unable to find the mobile/mobile not connected (it is connected).The little mobile phone icon in upper left corner of the Phone Tools program has a red barred sign over it...
If l exit program and try to re-enter, l get the same thing, nothing '...initializing...please wait...' and if l point my mouse over the mobile phone icon with the red barred sign, it says 'Mobile not connected'.
I've removed the software and re-installed it, yet the same thing happens.
Please, if there's anyone out there who can help me, l'd be very grateful!

Try a live update to the latest version (4.21) you may have to live updates several times

Is the Motorola Phone Tools 4.0 (the one you get when you buy the Razr V3i) the 'lite' version? Mine doesn't work properly, yet l've updated it several times and l believe l have the 4.21 now. Basically, when l try to connect, 95% of the time it says that no phone's connected.
Would it be better to purchase the Deluxe Phone Tools, or is the 4.0 already the deluxe version? I'm desperate!
One more question...how many songs can l save on my Razr V3i? Someone told me it depends on the card--which card and can l change it? (sorry but l'm totally ignorant on such matters..)So far l've saved 11 songs but can't add any more.

Oh no, l think l already have the deluxe...it says that anything above the 3.11 is deluxe. Why doesn't mine work? Please help me someone!

I'd did the live update to version 4.21, but it still doesn't work...

I had the 4.21 but still had problems so l removed it and started over again. At the moment l have 4.0.4b 12-01-2005 and as it seems to be behaving for the moment, l haven't updated it again.
What do you think the problem might be?

Hi Pixie,
I got the same problem as you. But the thing is my connection pc / mobile was working properly even a few hours ago, and then nothing anymore except this message that drives me crazy: "mobile not connected".
As long as my connection was previously working, unfortunately I have to come to the conclusion that even if this phone is nice in terms of design and ergonomy, it’s crap in terms of quality and reliability. Btw it’s not the first issue I’ve got with this phone: sometimes the screen is not working for a few hours or a few days (that also happened to a friend of mine with the Motorola vi3 as well).
So... hopefully I’m wrong and someone will tell us a way to fix it but to be honest I feel quite pessimistic about this phone.
Anyway Pixie, sorry if I didn’t fix your problem but may be you’ll feel a bit better to know that you are definitely not the only one to be disappointed by this phone.

Hi G, mine seems to be working ok now on the 4.0.4b version, why don't you try removing yours and then re-installing it and updating it to that version like l did?Like you, mine worked for a short time (20mins) then all l got was that infuriating message..'phone not connected'...
Apart from that l haven't had other problems, that said, l've only had the phone about a week...
