the perl is orginally a TM phone cingular now ATT just got it. also the 8125 is the MDA for t-mobile.

and best service? your opinion, best phones? your opinion again. if cingular is so great why is it or was it a 3 company force now only AT&T. ohh yea rollover is a gimmic also.

I'm on Verizon Wireless and I've had nothing but problems. Luckily tomorrow I'm getting my T-Mobile phone in so then hopefully I'll be able to judge a *good* company icon_smile.gif

I specifically don't like Verizon in the way it brands the phones. And with me owning a v710, how they turned off Bluetooth just so they can swindle customers into buying their shitty ring tones for $3 for 10 secs or so. :\

Why am I going with T-mobile? International Coverage (I plan on traveling to Germany a lot) and the GSM sim cards rule (as I do plan to buy a Moto MING once my funds are built up)

First of all, let's talk coverage. Coverage between Cingular Wireless (or Mobile by AT&T or AT&T Wireless, or whatever they're calling themselves now) and Verizon Wireless is almost identical. No one else has coverage worth mentioning. Sprint-Nextel have horrible coverage, and up until right now, they haven't been able to get their networks to be compatible. Besides Sprint-Nextel, financially, is in the worst shape of all the wireless carriers. T-Mobile.although they have fantastic customer service and great marketing, they just don't have the money. T-mobile's parent company is HUGE, however they don't give t-mobile enough money to be a major player. T-mobile also has the highest churn (number of customers cancelling service).

As far as customers.Cingular edges out Verizon by a small margin (I believe around 1 million customers). Verizon is around the 59.5 million mark and cingular is around 60 million or 61 million (combined number of cingular and old at&t wireless customers) mark. Based on every popular reporting survey, Verizon Wireless is the perennial leader. For the past 6 years they have topped in almost evey rateable category. They occassionally tie with Alltell. Cingular is consitently rated (believe it or not) at the bottom of all the carriers because although they have the coverage, GSM does not allow as many calls per channel as CDMA does which is why Verizon and Alltell out perform. If you don't believe me, open a consumer reports magazine.

Customer base aside, there is not a single company, including AT&T/Cinguar, that can touch verizon wireless. The only quarter in which Cingular posted a higher profit than Verizon was the quarter in which they bought AT&T Wireless (I would know, I used to work for AT&T Wireless/Cingular). Since then, Verizon has been destroying them with profit margin. Verizon runs their business much more seamlessly than Cingular. Verizon Wireless also boasts the industry's lowest churn rate. Most people who are with Verizon, stay with Verizon. Verizon is better equipped to continue to dominate in the long-run, than Cingular is. Coming from a person who has seen the inside of each of these companies, I can tell you that from the inside Verizon is running like a well oiled machine. Verizon is the company that Cingular wants to be like. You can't buy your way to success. You can't buy customer loyalty. That is my rant for the day.
