Cingular has the BEST coverage of them all!

icon_lol.gif You have got to be kidding right? When a Cingular commercial comes on, I laugh and not because they are funny. The message is hilarious! Fewest dropped calls? They are asking for a false advertisment with that line. My sister has Cingular, now the New AT & T and I swear if she moves 1 foot, the call drops.
HA HA HA HA HA HA! That made my day, BEST coverage HA HA HA HA icon_lol.gif

Most does not mean the best. Miller Lite claims to have the most taste of any light beer, it doesn't say it has the best taste because it doesn't.

Ahh the fun. Everyone has a different experience with their cell phone service. I've got both Cingular/AT&T and T-mobile service here in Colorado and I would have to give Cingular great marks. We had coverage problems at my work site for both carriers, but Cingular came out and did a site survey and fixed the problem, T-Mobile did not. To tell you the truth I don't think there is a best carrier, it's who covers your area the best and that's not always the same company.

What I have to say is that here in Puerto Rico, Cingular now the new AT&T and what was Verizon Wireless Puerto Rico now CLARO, are the best performing carriers in PR. Being VZW PR the one that has the island covered 98% while AT&T has it 95%. T-mobile doesn't give service in PR but my aunt lives in NJ and when she comes to PR she gets good coverage and she don't any roaming charges . Now comes the nasty SPRINT. Sprint in PR is a pile of shit in all the meaning of the word, having coverage in the coastline and in the mini central-east side of the island, having the worst customer service and providing free roaming all around the island through centennial because the can't get their customer covered in the 75% of the island where they don't give service. that's a little good.
CLARO(VZWPR) is the best in customer service, coverage, pricing, but in billing they are not good at that. They've to change their billing system because the new owner ordered it and said that they were using a very old system with a lot of bugs making customers to have charges they didnt made. AT&T have a problem here is that due to the topography of the island, a lot of mountains, they need to use more towers to spread their signal but performing good in terms of bars having 3,4,5. When you get inside a house, building, shopping centers that's a nightmare because you start to have a walkie talkie conversation with a lot of interruption. Not cool but you can get 3g coverage in the metro area only while with CLARO_VZW you'll get EVDO coverage in the extended metro area, north coastline, ponce metro and mayaguez metro areas.

Verizon has been great but I want to try Cingular because of roll over minutes.IN CONCLUSION!

I'll base my estimation off of what I've read on this site. Sprint has approximately 2 medium length threads discussing their dislike for them. Cingular/AT&T has approximately 2 medium-long threads discussing their dislike for them.
TMobile has at the very least 2 long threads discussing their hatred for them.
I haven't read any medium to long threads claiming displeasure about either Verizon or Alltel.

So the top GSM companies have long threads about their displeasure with the respective companies.
One of the top CDMA companies have a couple medium length threads, while the other two are clean.

It looks like you can judge CDMA to be the better over all based on a third party web sites complaint threads.

I will also disclaim all statements as certain areas will not have coverage for certain companies, as a result sometimes even if you like CDMA better you may have to go with GSM and vice versa.

This is quite a debate we have going here (yes people this is sarcasm). Well, ignoring all the usless arguing, I'll get straight to the point. Fasha, or however you spell your name; Hope you don't mind me shredding everything you have to say into pieces, ok?

Quote:
i could care less on how many awards that verizon gets they still suck ass. where i live verizon barely gets service at all and cingular dominates. what good phones does verizon have? answer that. i can the only phone i do like is the motorola Q somewhat. i mean look at these awfull choices:

how terrible is that, why do that when u could get the samsung blackjack (my phone) or the 8525 or 8125 or nokia e62 or blackberry pearl? really why?
Obviously you could care less, however I couldn't care less of your opinions. So far, you've ignored every piece of evidence given to you, and thrown it aside. It's getting as annoying as the thumpers who plug there ears and shout "I know you are but what am I?"
Whether or not they have good phones is pure opinion. Personally, I think Cingular has some cool phones that Verizon doesn't, and vice versa. My point is, stop throwing out your opinions as fact.

Quote:
for all that are new:

ok lets get one thing straight here. cingular is the dominant company, with the best phones by far. don't even try and convince me they don't. and the best service, in my view. they have the best phones out there today i mean look at these titiles: Samsung blackjack, cingular 8525, 8125, blackberry pearl, nokia e62, the treo family, the slvr, and of course the ever so popular razr. the only thing verizon or sprints got going for them is the treo family, the razr and the motorola Q. Thats like what 6 phones combined with both companies? wow that sucks. get some better phones. Ok TM the only thing thats going for it is the t-mobile mda, the sidekick, the razr, and the fact that they are gsm (uses sim card). Post a reply if u agree with this. who gets tired of using your phone after about 6 months and want a new phone? i kno i do. if i want to switch phones all i do is by an unlocked or cingular phone. pop in the sim card and thats it. can you do that cdma? no you cannot. thats the one of the reasons why your so terrible. if you want a new phone, u have to: one have a verizon phone. cannot be any other service provider. two: you have to have a clean esn. three call up verizon or sprint and talk to someone and have them switch it for you. screw that, why go through such a hassle when u could just pop your sim card right in? thats rediculous. also cingular is the only company to have 3g. (better signal, downloads etc). please reply to this messages i want to hear your lame excuses about how verizon or sprint is better. thank you, and remember Cingular is the best, check out the iphone in june!
If you seem to think that Cingular is dominant because they have the best service in your area, then I guess I could use the same logic against you, no? Cingular (AT&T) doesn't work at either of my grandparents. Verizon gets full service at one, and about 25-50% signal at the other. According to your logic, that would mean Verizon is superior.
FYI: Vcast technology is far superior to 3G. And for the thumper who said Vcast doesn't download all webpages, that would be because Vcast isn't used for internet.

The Iphone, by the way, has the crappiest battery life I have ever seen. It costs over 500 dollars, and you don't even get over 10 Gigs of music to use. Not to mention, since it's all touch screen, wouldn't it be rather sh!ty to be watching movies on a screen covered in fingerprints?

If you're going to use the "Has the fewest dropped calls," don't bother with that either. That statment is VERY misleading. For example: I could be traveling on a 50 mile stretch of road. Verizon, has service about 40% of the time, and we'll say Cingular has no service at all for that 50 miles. Now, say you make a call with Verizon, it connects and you get to talk around 2 min., then the call drops. Now this would mean that Verizon has 1 dropped call, and Cingular has 0. But WHOA hold up just a second! Does this actually mean Cingular has better service? The point is, you can't drop a call if it wont start.
