I forgot to mention that on a recent trip to Alaska my T-Mobile phone worked many areas where Verizon wouldn't. Funny that all my friends with me who had Verizon had to use my phone. icon_biggrin.gif I can't remember the name of the roaming carrier I used (CellOne I think) but the call reception was really great! I didn't pay one cent in roaming or anything.. worked just like at home.

Does anyone have anything to say about sprint, I'm with sprint and was thinking of switching over to verizon (Discount w/Job, Better Phones, Network claim etc.) but recently decided to check up on it. Recently I've noticed that sprint is picking up a larger selection of phones and honestly I have never dropped a call, I've travelled from Orlando, Fl. to New York, NY and never lost my signal where my 2 friends with TM lost service (absolutely couldnt make phone calls) in about 3 to 4 different states. And I've only heard good about Verizon...I Mean come on you have a entire cell phone company using Verizon towers (Amp'd Mobile) which there coverage stretches over 90% of the country! But then again the only bad thing that I have heard about sprint consistantly is BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I mean what do you guys think I should do, I have'nt really ever had a problem with sprint. Also is it me or have all the mobile companys picked the no roaming charges thing? Oh! one thing I dont like about Verizon is the nights and wknds starting at 9pm, thats not really a good claim because I know that soon they'll pick up 7pm nights and wknds. At this point I dont know what I should do but I'm only considering Verizon (along with Amp'd) and Sprint everyone else can fall back, my bill would be about the same but I wanna know what u guys think.

I do not work for Sprint nor am I paid by them. I do however feel that some of the bashing of their service is unduly harsh. Sprint's service has served me very well. I have had service with them for about 7-8 years and have really had very few complaints. Yes their customer service used to be awful, it is not great now but is has gotten alot better. I have not had a drop call in a very very long time. I have had my phone in use coast to coast through many airports and on long distance car trips.

When I compare Sprint to other carriers I can only compare them to two others Verizon and Cingular every other carrier outside of those are non existent. Verizon has much broader coverage but with my roaming I cannot see why I would need to switch because I have yet to be without a signal. Maybe I need to go deep into some forest or out on the plains to test my the theory but I think I will pass. Cingular on the other hand really does not measure up. Their voice quality is awful and I mean awful. The people sound like they are talking out of a tube and this is on various phone types. Also, I have owned many cingular phones for work and I would often get voice mails way after the call had been placed and never rang on my handset. Also the amount of time for the system to connect a call can take quite a while whereas I do not notice that on CDMA phones. One last thing, ask people in NYC how overloaded the cingular network can become. You don't have to worry about dropped calls if they never connect in the first place. In my opinion, the only carriers really worth their mettle in voice and data are Sprint and Verizon.

I myself do not get paid by sprint either. I have had them as my mobile service for about 10 years. Here is why I keep them....

When I first got sprint I WAS disgusted my there cs. I sent letters and received no replies. I like most of you was under contract. I even dropped the phone off at a store and told them to keep it. It wasnt doing me any good. They in return sent it back ups, lol. Over a period of time things were getting better. Then this happened...

I took a trip with a girlfriend from Las Vegas to New Jersey. I had sprint and she had Cingular. We drove accross these great states and I NEVER LOST SERVICE. Wait...one very small part of Arizona I did but so did the cingular. No towers in the sandy dooms, lol. She had to use my phone several times because she would lose her service hours at a clip. Sprint stayed on.

On a seperate trip to Canada She started roaming as soon as we crossed over. Sprint stayed on the network the entire time. This is the reason I say sprint or die.

On a side note the cingular phone she had never lost service in las vegas casino elevators. Thats pretty cool. Good thing I dont make many calls form elevators in Las Vegas.

Not trying to diss cingular, just telling you the facts.

You people-really haha...for the person who thinks that T-Mobile has the most towers...do us all a favor and go back to pre-school. They couldn't carry the big boys lunches! Verizon and cingular are by F A R the best of the main 4. Actually T-Mobile isnt even considered in the main...its verizon, cingular, and Sprint. As for who has the best coverage-VERIZON!!! Just because your buddy has 5 bars with cingular and you have 0 with verizon doesnt mean there better! it depends on where you are. Sign up for 15 days and see who has the best reception in your area. Cingular's fewest dropped calls is bogus...look it up some time and read the fine print will you. Verizon isnt 100 % either. CDMA is the best out there and offeres the best service in the US. Around the world GMA is better. Verizon-cingular the best, then sprint, then US cellular, THEN T-Mobile.

You're very funny! 1st off, Tmobile IS considered 1 of the main companies, so that bull crap isnt even worth arguing with, considering it is better than cingular in everything except coverage. Now, your right about how tmobile doesnt have the best coverage, but coverage isnt all to a company, so give me a break when u say anything "decent" about cingular and sprint. i have had every provider and verizon and tmobile are the best. Proven by JD power! && by most critics. i never hear anyone say "cingular is the best "

nor "sprint is the best"... haah not even close.
Im sorry but tmobile is a good company and im glad to currently have service with them.
Now, verizon may have the best coverage, but it is very "spread out".
for example: u will always have service with verizon, just not always full, in fact rarely full (for me when i had them). Tmobile puts many towers in 1 small area, then skips a few miles tile more, which doesnt work all too well when u want service ALWAYS. but i do get service always with tmobile for where i live, so it doesnt matter to me[/b]

UM...YOU DO KNOW THAT COMPANIES HAVE TO PAY JD TO SAY NICE THINGS ABOUT THEM RIGHT?

YOU SEEM TO KNOW SO MUCH, THOUGHT I WOULD THROW TAT IN. IM NOT A T-MOBILE FAN MYSELF BUT TO SAY COVERAGE ISNT EVERYTHING....MOST ***INDEPENDENT*** STUDIES SAY ITS MOST. WHEN IT COMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE ONLY ONE COMPANY FAILS EVERYTIME. ***HELIO** BUT LETS NOT CALL THEM A PHONE COMPANY icon_wink.gif

The truth is that unless you have been in a cave for the last twenty years you have probably had more then one provider. You find a provider that works best for you and your needs. There is no need to bash the way a company does buisness. If you have crappy Helio (lol just kidding) you might like to text all day. Most kids do. That might be best for you. If you have Verizon chances are most of your friends also have it and that would be great. Ihave Sprint because they didnt fail me on a trip accross america. I however was witness to cingular losing signal in many states. That was over a year ago. Maybe things are better. I was blown away by the cim card however. The bottom line ie cingular isnt for me. Sprint never fails me. I had a few dropped calls back in the day and when i called to report them, Sprint removed the calls from bill. Not bad.

The bottom line (in my humble opinion) find a dervice that works best for you. Then start bashing the rest on these here posts, lololol j/k
