Anyone done this? We were told by store that we couldn't tranfer phones, is this true? We just moved from Cingular to Verizon because of the 50% on other towers, and now Verizon doesn't get coverage here... ack!

Now we have to buy new phones...

You can't use a Verizon phone on a US Cellular plan. If you just switched to Verizon you should still be able to get out of your contract, though US may not work much better as they are both CDMA providers. US gives you a 30 day trial period that you can cancel everything and get all your money back for phones and everything.

If I am not mistaken, US Cellular is an affiliate of Sprints.

Best way to get an unbiased opinion from the folks in your area is to go to independent sellers of multiple brands, you're gonna get one of two responses.

They'll recommend the company that pays the highest commissions.
They'll recommend the company that stays sold the best because it works better.

Talk to several of them to reduce the chances of the top possibility.

US Cellular is not part of Sprint. US Cellular is a independent. it used to be owned by Telephone and Data Systems.

No suprise that I got that one mixed up, too many years living in this hole to get all the facts straight. Especially when I get a large percentage of those facts from idle reading.
