The LG VX8300 review indicates that this phone works with VZ Navigator but Verizon says nothing about it. Has anyone confirmed that it does or does not work with VZ navigator? If it does work, is there something extra that needs to be done to make it work?

Well, I have my 8300 on its way, so I don't know if it works with it foresure. I'll tell you what I DO know. It is a program that you have to download to your phone. You go to "get it now" and download it from there. Last I checked they were giving it for free until August. Then you can either pay $2.99/day or $10/month. Keep in mind that it uses up your minutes unless you are paying extra for the vcast package for unlimited airtime. Hope that helps.

Thank you, that does help. I think it is strange that Verizon doesn't advertise the LG 8300 on their site as working with their VZ Navigator.

They didnt advertise it bc they didnt roll out the VZ Navigator when the phone was released. I VZW rep told me that they didnt release until over a week of the phone being out. Plus, more ppl want the Razr phone so they advertise that. But the VZ Navigator is fantastic. Even if your not sure bout it. Download the free month trial. Its awesome!

I've got the LG VX9800 and I've not downloaded the trial version of VZ Navigator. However, here's what I'm wondering about: Suppose that you've had the VZN (Verizon Naviagor) for less than or equal to 30 days; now, when you remove/cancel the application, is it absoultely removed so VZW would not charge us anything after the trial period is over (again, provided that we remove the app BEFORE trial period is over)? That's what I'm wondering about. Thanks.

Actually, when you download the free trial its a fully functional trial but everytime you go to Get Going < VZN, it says "Run it" or "Buy it" So when your trial ends, you just stop using the application. You have to actually click "Buy it" to be charged for anything. VZN is not a prorated charge like most ppl think. If you buy it for the month (9.99) you have to pay the full month or (2.99) a day. Keep in mind, make sure you have VCast on the phone so that it doesnt charge you airtime for using it.

It works beautiful on mine. Just like a regular navigation system. You first have to set that the phone should be located everywhere (Setting & Tools - Phone Settings - Location - Location ON), and then I run the free trial version. After requesting permission to locate your phone for the next 4 hours, it will guide you turn by turn, with visual and talking guides. If you want to know anytime in between what to do next, just press the OK button (which stands for TALK), and it will repeat you what to do next. The speaker is engaged automatically, the LCD stays fully ON during that time. It's really wonderful!

It does work well.
However, on a just completed trip through the south, whenever I was in a roaming area (Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas) it would not work. I checked with Verizon and they confirmed that there is nothing to be done about it.
Rats.
