I just got a VX8300 and I purchased an SD card with it. So far I like it a lot (my kyocera was 2+ years old). I was able to enable mp3's and everything. I took a few pictures and a video and I can download them to my eMachines computer by plugging the SD card into the slot. The problem is that I can't upload mp3's or wma's onto the card. It gives me an error that says "Cannot copy : the device is not ready.” Any ideas on what this could be? Do I need a new driver or is something else wrong? One thing I noticed is that the folders on the card are Read Only, I tried changing it but it didn't seem to work. Help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I tried the lock switch. It gives me a different message when it's locked -- that it's write protected or something. When it's not locked I get that other message.

Econ,
try right clicking on the card and format it. Actually, format it off of the phone itself. Then pop a cd in your drive, copy some songs to your hard drive (might as well compress them here at this stage too), then drop the files into the sd card where they should go. I don't have this phone though, but I mean it's like the 8100 right? Just better I would imagine.

Good idea, thank you. I tried it but I still keep getting error messages.
When I tried to format the card I got an error message that said "Could not complete format" or something like that. I still erased everything though. I tried copying a file to the SD card after that and I got "Cannot copy <filename>: The parameter is incorrect."
I'm beginning to think that there's either something wrong with the card reader on my computer or the SD card itself. I've tried finding a new driver for the card reader, but it seems that there isn't a new one. I think I'll try taking the SD card back unless someone has another suggestion.
The thing that puzzles me is that I can download from the SD card to my computer, but I can't upload from my computer to the SD card.
