Forgive me if this topic has been covered already, but does anyone know if you are able to add words to the T9 dictionary on the 990?
Thanks a bunch.

Yes, you can. Only way I know is if you spell a word like doggie, and your really way off, just keep typing letters and it will be like add a word?

Several months have gone by, and it appears there is no resolution?
Do ANY of the SAMSUNG phones T9 dictionaries have the capability to LEARN?
What is the likelihood that SAMSUNG will come up with a software update?
You'd think they would offer such a simple feature on so expensive a phone!

I think we can thank Verizon for that one.

No you cannot. I don't think the SAMSUNG engineers have any clue on what their customer base wants or needs. You're right, you buy the high end phone, and learn to your dismay, that it's geared for the low-end user. The entire menu interface is designed for DUMMIES. It's CLUMSY at best. SAMSUNG has been aware of the the desire for users to add words to the T9 dictionary since its' inception, but it will probably NOT address the issue. This will be the LAST phone I buy from SAMSUNG. You CAN add words to the VoiceMode dictionary, but NOT the T9.

Ok. It took me exactly 2 google searches to find the answer to this problem and also to prove you nay-sayers wrong.
(since this site, in it's infinite wisdom won't let me post a URL.)
Google for "How Do I Add A Word To The T9 Dictionary?" -- it's like the 3rd result under "Samsung Digital World Support"

THE A990 IS INCAPABLE OF ADDING WORDS TO THE T9 DICTIONARY.
The VOICE dictionary learns, but the T9 dictionary is as stubborn as the A$$E$ who integrated it into Verizon's "Top of the line" phone.
Don't point us to a website, SHOW US how you SUCCESSFULLY did it.
Perhaps, you should try it and become a "nay-sayer" yourself.
.GOOD LUCK
