i think you cannot directly record songs from the radio to the MMC. i think it has to be saved on the phones memory then you have to transfer it manually onto the MMC. anyway, the time span of songs you want to transfer to your MMC will depend on the quality of the music. probably radio quality has smaller file size than the 128k-MP3. But I heard the AAC file format is a better option as it preserves the quality of MP3 with smaller file size.

Nokia 3300 Manual:
| Quote: | | You can record or transfer music files of up to 2 hours of near CD-quality music to a 64 MB memory card. |
That woud be up to 7200 seconds
And I don't think, you can define the quality of recording, nothing mentioned.

thanks ,
I saw this statement also, but I think it refers to media files (e.g. mp3) and not regular radio recordings.

It records in aac format and it *does* record to the mmc card.
I tried it last night and it puts the file in the Recordings folder on the mmc card.

ok so if it does recorde in mp3 you can basicly do the rough math this way
128kps or 192kps mp3 @ about 5 mins = 5mb =ing 1mb per min.
now it does flex when you are recording because i belive the phone saves in mono if im not mistaken and that "should" make the file size a bit smaller *note should*..
so say if you wanted to fill up the mmc with all the raido you can fit you should be able to get about 64mins of air time
this is also a hard one to say because usualy when your done it saves the file *when doing this it converts the file* note that that is not always the case either.. but if it is then you can only use half of 64mbs and that is 32mb.
give or take depending on kps, mono or stereo, and if it converts the file after you are done

Can anyone here do me a favor and record something form the line in and then transfer it to PC and play it back and see if you can see the bitrate that the player used? i suspect it uses 64kbps which is really too bad.. but maybe it's 128 which would be MUCH better
thanks so much for your help!

It records in acc and not in mp3, and you cannot record directly form the radio built in the same phone.

Yes you can record from the radio.
Yes that's why it's there.
It records in AAC.
With the radio playing hit the back button.
Go to the menu & scroll until you get to Music.
Then go to Recorder.
Remember. The radio has to be on.
Then go to the recorder & press record.
P.S. Radio quality is at best 64KB.
If you use the CD line in cable it's 128KB.
Hence the 3300 can only record radio @ 64KB.
