Isigned up for Sprint's $29.99 plan with a $150 deposit.My questions are:
*Is this amount refundable anytime?
*What does 0-200 anytime mins mean?

sprints holds the deposits for a year the 0-200 mins is the amount of mins you get for the 29.99 before being charged for extra min on the fair and flexiable i believe an add 100 min is something like 5 bucks not sure anymore i am a old sprint customer

the 29.99 plan is the Sprint Fair & Flexible 200. you have 200 anytime minutes and the whole deal with the f&f plans is the overage rates. they're a little more lenient with them. let's say you start going over the 200 minutes, it's $5 for every 50 minutes when you start going over until you reach 701. after that, it's 10 cents a minute.

The $29.99 plan is by far the shit plan, the minutes are 10 cents a minute.

No after one year of service you get the $150 back credited to your account. Thats what they told my friend when he opened his account.

The deposit is generally applied to the bill on the 13th month of the contract. 0-200 is an unclear way of stating you may not use all of your minutes each month, and that you have no claim to unused minutes after that month is up.
The Fair and Flexible plan was recently changed to $5 for every 30 minutes over which is roughly 17 cents a minute provided you use all 30 minutes.
As for it being a s*@t plan try this on for size.
A customer unwisely goes over there plan by 300 minutes (true story by the way) and at 45 cents overage paid an additional 150 on their next bill, on the F&F they would have spent 50, not friendly, but much nicer then the 150 the spent instead.
Most plans used by consumers have a 30-45 cent overage charge so ultimately end up taking a 10-20 dollar per month increase to avoid overages. This ends up costing them 120-240 more a year, just to avoid overages. With this figure you can look at your plan on Sprint and decide how often you are going to go over and if you go 30-60 minutes over less then half the time you still end up being better off with a lesser plan then a larger plan. How many sales people from other cell service providers can recommend that there customer not take a bigger plan when they know the customer will go over there plans 6 months out of the year. Even at 35 cents times 60 that customer will spend an additional 21 on those months and an extra 126 a year as a result. On the F&F they would spend an additional 10 a month for an additional 60 a year. Keep making the amount of minutes they go over larger and it only makes the F&F plan look better. When you figure in the Sprint's plans have the same minutes for the same dollar amount, with free night and weekends starting at 7 and a much friendlier overage system, unless they don't have coverage in your area then it makes sense to choose them over the competition.

if u guys go over ur mins, i found an app called Time Out that checks them for you. It sends me a text message/email before I go over. it's made by Jenyksoft.
