I purchased an unlocked Nokia 6010 from Ebay. When I put my son's Cellular One sim card in it, it asks for a pin code. My son has never had a pin code on his card. He has always used a flip phone with no code. I know the phone is unlocked because I put my Tmobile card in it, used my pass code and it works. The phone has the capability of turning off the code. I did this, but all it did was turn off the code to MY sim. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

In that case your son must have the PIN activated on his SIM.
The phone only asks for it when activated on the SIM
(as you already have experienced).
You should check the documentation which came with the SIM card. The PIN is normally within it.
Otherwise you need to contact the provider and they will send you a new SIM card (for a fee of course).
Maybe he never turned of his old phone after he received it and entered the PIN....
Did you try his SIM in his old phone again?

if his sim is active, try entering in a few things. it sould com up asking for a PUK. you can get that # from customer care.

u mean first screw up the sim by putting different codes and after that contact the service provider for puk code?

generally, after three attempts the phone will ask for a PUK (pin unlock key) that customer care has. it is a security feature if someone tries to access your phone by trying different PINs. if the PUK is entered more than ten times incorrectly, the sim will be disabled.
since it's an unlocked phone, most reps won't deal with it. and we don't know your pin, so we can't tell it to you. as bjoern said, we could order you a sim.
