My advice is to give customer service a call and ask for a courtesy credit for the cost of the contact transfer. In the fall, VZW will be rolling out a "do it yourself" contact transfer, but until then, going through cust care would be best....

If the prior phone is still operating, you can go to Get It Now, download Back up assistant which is $1.99. and also saves your ph # on VZW website as well .. then with new ph download and it restores your #'s to new phone.. It is actually a good idea to do anyway in case phone is ever lost, your #'s will be on website cause god knows none of us memorizes ph # any more....

Yeah Texan but I get more complaints about VZW's money grubbing ways, daring to make people pay for their contact numbers to be stored on our computer system---so I don't usually mention it. It's just easier to credit them.

I do have to agree with some of your comments Tampadelphian! Guess, I should keep mine to myself, sure you know what I mean! What location are you at, if you don't mind me asking...

I'm in the Tampa call center...compared to T-Mobile and Alltel, working at VZW is a dream.
