Hi guys!
Noticed many having problems with the IR adaptors. Please post which adaptor you bought with the brand & model no. Hopefully, we can avoid having more people making the same mistakes with their purchases!
I haven't got one. Asked Club Nokia first and they said that the phones are not compatible with the adaptors. I think some may work. Who knows?

Ok i emailed nokia support and this is wht they said
We can understand your frustrations about hearing the Nokia 7210 phone is not Infrared compatible. The fact is the Nokia 7210 phone does communicate with Infrared ports. At this time though the Nokia 7210 phone will not work with an external infrared port. This is due to how external infra red ports interact with the computer. There is no one set standard on how these third party accessories accomplish this task. Therefore there is no way for Nokia to support any one product. If your computer has a built in infrared device such as many laptops have the phone can use that.
NOOOO there so
has ne1 bought an Irda and it worked?

Hi guys,
Once I used BaFo Irda. For sure, this product is not compatible with nokia 6610/7210/6510/8310
Then I switch it with IRMate model 410U and it's working perfectly since then.
Good Luck

I use a Mobile Action MA-620 IR adaptor which works perfectly with my current 6100 and my previous 6610. You can use it with the software supplied, which is ok, or with Nokia PC Suite which came with the phone itself.
Probably more benefit to those in the UK!

i recently bought a usb IR adapter for my phone and it didnt work well, kept intermittently connecting and disconnecting. i opened the IR monitor settings in the Control Panel and unticked "install software for plug and play devices within range" under the "options" tab. it works without any problems now
i'm using nokia pc suite 5.0
hope this works for others too...

Most importantly, how much?

Hey guys!
I recently bought a Nokia 7210, and I already have a usb U2 irda infrared port for the computer, but everytime i try to upload any wallpapers on the phone it says operation failed. I know for sure that the infrared port is working fine because my brother has a T68i and he can upload everything perfectly without any problems. Can someone help me with this, do I have to go to control panel or anything and mess around with it. Any help would be good.
Thanks

Hey guys,

Do you reckon its the software or maybe the ir adapter, any suggestions.

I got my infrared adapter (MA620 USB Infrared Adapter) It cost £29.95, and has been really good. You get some decent software with it aswell. I use it for my 7210 and my brothers 6100 & t68i, and it works great. Hope this is of some use.
