I recently got this phone (works with Cingular but not sold by them). Txt messages work fine, but I can't get on the internet or send/receive picture messages. It's definately something in the network settings, and Cingular didn't seem too interested in helping me fix a phone that I didn't get from them. Can anyone help me out?

tell it you have a w600i (same settings) and you see the settings for wap and MMS

Thanks, but I've tried those settings as well as getting the settings from the sony ericsson page, but it still says "Download Failed Internet Profile Error" when I try to open a picture message, and "Conn Failure, check settings" when I try to go on the internet.

do you have MMS enabled on your Cingular account?

yes, i have the media package that includes MMS and the net. they both worked fine on my last phone (lg l1400 bought from cingular). i got my new phone on ebay though since cingular doesn't sell it yet. everything else works fine just can't get this straight.

well if the settings are correct (go back and dbl check
Access/configure browser/internet settings
Access/configure MMS (picture messaging) settings
ensure everything matches....
if the phone cannot fin the services it cant work... if you still have the LG phone... swap your simcard...if the mms starts working again its a setting in your Sony phone...if it doesnt something happened at the cingular end

well i was able to solve the problem. i had gotten the mms/internet settings from the sony ericsson page, but i didn't think to re-boot the phone (stupid me). i did that and everything seems to be working. thanks for the help!

Hello, when you say you forgot to reboot your phone, do you mean master reset? This is beacuse i think i have the same problem as you had. I got the internet settings from the sony ericsson website, then i reset the phone, after that i got the settings sent to me again and saved them. However when i try to use the internet now it says [i]"Conn. failure. Check settings..."[/i] Was this the same for you? If so please help me!

reboot= power off and power back on...
master reset is a drastic last resort measure....it returns the phone to the factory settings

Thanks for that information, but my internet is still not working. Both the Internet settings and the streaming settings are the same.
