Ero you are spot on good man!
I agree once you marry your notebook to the phone (WITH A PIN NO LESS) it should be moot whether or not you want to allow a connection.
I don't mind that too much because you are going to be right at the phone each time you want to send/rec. but what REALLY REALLY annoys me and it's not quite a deal breaker but it really does suck is that stupid FADE IN ring crap. PLEASE tell me there's a way to start full?
That's a total microsoft thing to do. CRAM IT DOWN YOUR THROAT rather than make it an option. Like as if they couldn't have "fade in ringer" on/off. that would be CAKE to do. maybe they will introduce a firmware flash that will add it?
who knows.

I just got my CU515 yesterday and I have a bluetooth adapter (IVT BlueSoleil) and I cannot do a damn thing with my phone. I can pair with it, but all it sais is "connect handset only" I cannot push files or anything. I've read this entire thread and the 15 page thread here at the cingular forums and I've guessing that Bluetooth connectivity is a no-go, and I have to get a USB cable and microSD card. And this microSD card must be a SanDisk 1 gb.
My question is why is bluetooth castraetd on this phone, and is there any other way around it? The australian LG site removed the software, and I've not got a cable to try BitPim yet.
Is this even worth my time. I want custom ringtones for people. I want my g/f to have one, work to have another, etc. Can I do this?

How exactly do you do that? I would really like to have that taken off.[/quote]

yea, you can, if your contacts are saved onto the phone, if they are saved onto the sims card you can't. you go to your contacts and then click edit in the options and then scroll down and then you can probably figure it out from there.

Ok listen,
I have had this phone for almost a year now, this is what i have learned.
If you want to easily transfer your files and music then just take the sd card out of the phone and use a card reader to put them directly on the card.
Also if you want to make your own ringtones all you have to do is use a simple mp3 editing program and chop the song down to a 30 second sample.
The only question i have is this: is there a way to set the text message alert to a short vibration?
