Do you know if the phone can sync contacts and such with outlook? I see that it supports a serial and usb data cable, but I don't see anywhere that shows sync software available for the phone.

Cingular says that the sync software is upcoming, but refuse to round it off to the nearest decade.

That would explain why I can't find software anywhere for it. Weird they sell the data cables, but don't have the software yet. I guess I will be waiting to buy this until they have the ability to sync. I have too many contacts to store on the sim and I am not up for trying to re-enter 175 contacts with multiple phone numbers and email addresses by hand. Other than that it seems like a great phone based on the features. Right now Cingular has it for 80 after online discounts and rebates so it seems like a great deal. Hopefully it will be as cheap once the software comes out.

Just got this phone yesterday and I can't figure out how to get one of my songs from my micro sd card to use as my ringtone. I keep getting a message that says "file too large to be used as ringtone." The online info says you can use mp3s as ringtones, but do they mean only the small 30 second clips of a song. I'd like to just use my full size mp3s as ringtones, but if I can't then I'm not keeping this phone. I'd really hate to give it up cause it is pretty sweet. Anybody having the same issues?

Looks like you're giving up that phone tarb.
The CU500 will only play files that are smaller tahn a certain size I believe
personally no offense but its silly to give up ur phone just cuz of that. Crop your song down to 30 seconds. Think about it, when someone calls you, your phone only rings for, what, 30 seconds before it goes to voicemail. Right? So just make it 30 seconds n nobody will even kno its not playing the whole song.
I've had this phone for a week now and it totally kicks ass. The only thing taht irritates me is that it keeps asking for confirmation whenever any app tries to make a connection to it, as well as whenever a file is recieved by it. So there goes transfering songs by bluetooth. Hopefully when the software comes out they'll have fixed that up.

my very first LG!
something alarmed me while i was reading page 8 of the manual this morning:
"Do not place or answer calls while charging the phone as it may short-circuit the phone and/or cause electric shock or fire."
i've never seen this before! should i be worried? i'm on the phone + charging every night!
