new at all this...
I can connect to the phone using MPT and it works fine, when i connect with P2Kman i get the message "Volume name fail"
basically all i want to do is have some mp3's as ring tones, i can put them on the phone with MPT but then no option to use them as ringtones.
I have read here about deleting some .db files to allow this, but need to get P2Kman working first.

Try following the advice in the connecting to p2k programs guide in the tutorial section

i've gone through that tutorial on 2 different computers and all seems to be ok.
it shows the phone connected but the program just seems to lock up if i press any icon. no list of the files either when it starts up.

Sorry I don't know much about the V3c - no CDMA in the UK.
I don't know what to suggest other than wait for someone that knows your model better
