I recently bought an unlocked oem SLVR and cant get it to detect or register with T-mobile. I have messed with the network settings but it seems to be detecting cingular more than t-mobile. I've also tried this at work where i have better reception with no luck. I tried calling t-mobile but after 20 mins on hold i gave up and decided to post here. Is there any reason i cant get the handset registered to the t-mobile network?

Is the phone a congular phone that has been unlocked? If yes then you may have to do a seem edit to get it to not roam onto cingular.

i'm not sure if you've done this yet or if you have solved your problem but when i got my SLVR the first thing i did was go this website "http://tmobileus.wdsglobal.com/phonefirst" and t-mobile sends you WAP messages that reconfigure your phone to work with their service. i hope that helps.

If you live in California or Nevada and you are using a non T-Mobile branded device your phone will probably say Cingular. There is an update that can be sent to your SIM card, but I've found that it often doesn't work. Your four year old SIM card could also be a source of the problem. Maybe look into getting a new SIM. Realistically, though, as long as you GET a signal, I wouldn't worry about who it's from.
The link posted above will help you configure WAP and MMS settings but it will not help you to get signal or any voice related problems.

Hello!
Thanks to unclespoon for the link. I have the L7 Slvr bought unlocked and have Tmobile service.
In the link provided, under Motorola, there is *no* choice for L7's, just the L6, so I chose that hoping it would be the same.
I had no difficulty downloading the mod for Tzones/Tweb, but when I went to download the mods for pictures and video, it stated that I could not add new MMS server- memory had reached max limit? I tried also to download mod under Razr V3, but got same error msg. Is there a way to create room? Unclespoon, did this happen to you? Argh! I would love to recieve pics again.....
Thanks so much folks.
