Hello. I am having audio problem with v505. The volume is very low, I can barely hear the person I am talking with. I have set the volume setting at maximum, but did not help. But speakerphone is not affected. So I have had to make calls with speakerphone. The V505 is otherwise functioning normally. It has not been dropped or got wet. I have not changed the firmware or added any programs. I would appreciate any suggestion to my problem. Thank you.

You can edit the gain_table.bin file to increase the gains. Take a look at the sticky threads for info on what offsets to edit and then read the seem editing guide in the tutorials section to get an idea of the process

Thanks for your reply, mikekay10. I have looked at the information you suggested. I have accessed gain_table.bin and changed the earpiece volume offset <0D> to the maximum setting, which is 08 (from 01). Which seem to have helped a little bit, but still not loud enough at the highest volume setting. I also performed a master reset which did not do anything.
I wonder if this is a hardware issue. It worked fine previously, and I did not change anything in the phone. Would appreciate any other suggestions.

If it worked fine then suddenly stopped it may well be hardware, but did you remember to restart after doing the edit?
It could be that the speaker has attracted swarf / dirt which is muffling it - that happens to me sometimes or it may just be a blown speaker

Thanks for you time, mikekay10. Yes, I did reboot after edit. Also tried blowing the earpiece opening with compressed air.
Ah, well. May be it's time to upgrade to a new phone. How do you like your V3?

Getting a little dated now - a V3i is what you want IMO
