I am flummoxed as to what is wrong. My phone is now useless. It was a samsung v200 now it is just a small brick!.
Any help would be appreciated...

so.i had the same problem.too many retries and i was hopeless too.but then i move the button on the cable to D/L and tried to write the firmware.it worked oke......
So...when you back up keep that button on data.but when you go to the verify and flash steps switch the cable from data to D/L and it will work.off course select the phone from settings.but first of all uninstal and then reinstall optiflash.and be aware that if you have windows me/98 install optiflash 3.3 because 3.6 is only for xp.
hope it will help...

Hi, i just flashed my Samsung SGH-v200 with the tutorial that was posted on page 1 of this topic. I followed it exactly & the procedure worked fine, my backup worked etc.. But now the procedure is done it won't let me turn on my fone. Even when i restore the backup i still get no power to my fone.
I need help in getting it working again.
my msn is matthew@dbz-vortex.com <--- please talk to me there if possible, but forum replies are fine. Regards, Matthew.

Hi, I don't really understand the following steps on Quick Tutorial.
After put the cable into the phone, the where to select the firmware? Is that by starting the OptiFlash 3.6? And how/where to push the flash button BACKUP FIRST? And so on. Anyone could explain in more details?
E. Put the cable in the phone [ Now your screen is white ]
F. Select the firmware and push the flash button BACKUP FIRST
G. When Optiflash says 'Power on mobile' Push the on/off button 2 secs and the screen should go black leave the phone connected to your cable.
Also, can I flash from P408PLUS to P400? Which firmware to download? I currently have P48ZDWJ2.
THANKS!

Do you know any info on a new e700 firmware release, one that fixes some major issues i'm sure we all have like group ringtones etc... i read somewhere that samsung didnt even know the problems with the lack of functions existed and they were 'looking' into it... i dont care if i have official software or a modded version.. I don't think you can. I have tried all of the P400 firmware on my P408 and after I flash none of them ever power on. I am using the P408PLUS firmware P48ZDWI1 right now. If you somehow get it working please tell me how you did it.
