I'm very new to THESE forums, and have been gaining knowledge due to the excellent info from this site.

I still however have a few questions that I think the personal experience from you guys doesn't say in the readings of this website.

My LG VX3100 has been very loyal to me, but they have also been VERY WEEK. This is my 4th phone and its close to splitting in half again by 1 drop.

I think it's time to upgrade to a color phone (to say the least icon_razz.gif ), but I would like a few options with it as well.

1) RUGGEDNESS. I do travel alot around Southern California (part of my job), and I am quite clumsy at times, so I do tend to drop it.

2) An mp3 player. I still haven't bought an ipod, and if a phone can play mp3's, why bother buying an ipod?

3) The wider the better. When I would txt with my vx3100, the muscle below my thumb would start too hurt cuz the phone is REALLY small. I have big hands. I am 6'3".

4) No smart phones or PDA's please. I just want to make calls, txt's, send and receive pictures (if necessary), and play mp3's.

I really don't care too much about price. I have the money.

Thank you guys very much. Sorry if these requirements seem to strict or picky.

1) As far as ruggedness goes you should invest in a leather case for your phone to help protect it.

2) MP3 player-- you should go with the lg 8300 uses micro sd card so you can put lots of songs on it. Loud external speakers.

3) 8300 has raised up keys that are pretty big when compared to other phones.

8300 sends pics, videos, and txts.
and the price isn't too bad either!

I was reading the reviews for the LG VX8300 and stumbled across this segment by the reviewer ws126. He/She said this under the Cons section:

"The phone is an MP3 player that doesnt play MP3s, you have to convert them to WMA, and you have to buy the software from verizon."

So then the phone really isn't an MP3 player?!?!? They HAVE TO BE converted to wma?

Yes that is correct. It is necessary to convert the files.

I have a brand new in the box Motorola Razr V3C for sale. If you are interested I can provide pictures also. I'd like to get $200.00 for it.

You might want to try the LG Chocolate! Havent seen it in person just yet, but if you drop phones alot, I certainly would not get a Moto Razor they overall seem VERY fragile.. If you text alot the LG "V" might be better as can get the music plus it overall seems to be more sturdy!

Texan, you are right. I do have however insurance, and I did put ALL of my contacts on excel, and I do have all my mp3's on PC.

oh. That sounds too computerish. Like I said... I prefer ruggedness. My #4 criteria was no smartphone PDA style.

Thanks anyways icon_smile.gif
