Well, at least for one guy, they're not...not in Asheville, NC
MTi Map Tools shows good and not-so-good coverage along that interstate in Asheville Also, if I understand the icons right, it appears there are lot of towers being integrated there.
His call dropped (while talking to me) as he passed a tower, then he went from almost no signal to full signal (i had to call him back). He's had this problem for years with four different phones (three the same model, the fourth is a RAZR).
It was 9pm when we wrapped up the call. I recommended he call back at his earliest convenience to see if we could xfer him to tech2 9left detailed notes for reference), but I also said that tech 2 might not be able to fix the situation if it's the towers.
I was pretty satisfied in telling him it was just spotty coverage/integration issues until I understood that his calls often drop when going from tower to tower. (previous reps told him to powercycle after each tower...that may be the solution but it's funny). I don't kow what causes that. Is that something tech2 can help?
Also hoping I read the map right.
cheers.

actually in retrospect nothing...lookin at the area the service if blue is most likely converted anyway so orange systems are driving it...

okay...since blue/orange doesn't matter.
does anyone know some common reasons why towers may consistently have trouble handing off a particular phone. The fellows calls drop every time he passes a tower along interstate 40 in NC (he's a trucker).
thanks.

dead spot...said tower may not be cingular...being too close to a tower is just as bad as being too far from a tower... the list goes on...
what was the alfa tag on the phone at the time?
when was the last time the phone was power cycled?
these basic questions coulld provide clues...
