Everyone seems to love their VX8300. I have Cingular, so I've been looking at the CU500. But the VX8300 seems to have everything that the CU500 has, and a few more options.
Both have high speed internet, with the EV-DO coming out on top because it can have a higher throughput. Both have all the same options except the VX8300 appears to have Voice Dialing and GPS, which the CU500 doesn't have. The VX8300 also supposedly supports 2 gig memory sims. I don't know if the CU500 will support 2 gigs. Also, the main display of the VX8300 has 18 bit colors, where the CU500 has 16 bit colors.
The CU500 has more modes supported though, but that isn't an issue for me. My contract is complete with Cingular, so I could switch over. But is the VX8300 the better phone?

I love the VX8300. I haven't seen the Singular phone so I can't say for sure which is better. So far, to my knowledge, it hasn't been confirmed that the 8300 can handle 2 GB, has it? Some say yes, but others say no. I don't think the micro sd 2gb is out yet, is it?
The newer chocolate phone is out now, but I don't like the design, thank goodness. I say that because I'd want to kick myself for buying one phone when a better one was just around the corner. But, so far, I don't see a phone I'd rather have.

if you plan to use bluetooth, stick with Cingular. Verizon cripples their phones so that you can use only headsets, you can't transfer data.

Wow I didn't know that with Verizon. I plan on using my bluetooth to transfer mp3 and video to the phone. Thanks for the heads up.

That's not accurate. You CAN transfer data via bluetooth with the 8300 on Verizon.

Get both. I would get the CU500 since I have CINGULAR right now.
