hi,
Does anyone have a sony k790i and using it in north america? If so, how good is the reception and what carrier are you using. I want to get this phone for cingular but am not sure how compatible it will be since its using 900/1900 as opposed to 850/1900. thanks.

Hey sisco. It depends where you are using the phone. If you're using the K790i in places like New York or Seattle, you can get away with just 1900Mhz. But if you're in places like rural areas, boonies, etc., reception is going to be patchy most of the times. You'll be saying what the Verizon guy was saying in the old Verizon commercials, "Can you hear me now?"
If you want more feedback from K790i owners, try posting your question in Hofo forums, you'll probably get more response there.

I just got a K790i and I'm using it in the NYC area on T-Mobile. Fantastic reception so far but I have yet to take it out to the boonies.
