Hi, right now, my mom's phone is the main line and signed up for the new every two program. my dad and i have the extra family lines. We aren't eligible for the 100 dollar discount but my mom is. Thing is, only i want a new phone right now. What i want to know is, i want to order the LG Chocolate online with my mom's rebate. When the phone comes, am i supposed to take it to Verizon to activiate it? If that is so, can't i just say i'd like this phone activated under my phone number and not my mom's?

Yes...you will do the upgrade on your mom's phone and when you get the phone call customer service and tell them that you wish to do the esn change on your phone instead. We do that all the time.

Verizon has told me over and over that if I buy a phone on an upgrade for a particular phone that I can not activate as one of the other phones?? but you have done that?

I was just in the store and said that I wanted to use the upgrade discount on my daughters phone for my son and they told me I could not - what if i buy it online and then call and they say they can not do it?

Just call *611 or better yet do it online on my account. If you do it on the phone you might get charged for it while it's free online.

well I went to the Verizon store today to use ny upgrade for my daughters phone but low and behold they would not let me leave the store without activating it ont he line that is eligible for the upgrade - so I told them I would order it online and activate on the line I want anyway and they told me that the phone will come encrypted with a serial number that can only be activated for the phone that the upgrade is for - so what is the truth please?

All I can say is READ MY BLANKING NOTE. It doesn't say go to the store it doesn't say to tell them what you're planning on doing. It says "Call *611 and we'll take care of it!!!" Sheesh---in one ear and out the other.

Nice - and you work for Verizon? I tell you - your company is really batting a thousand with me this week -and I did not tell them what I was doing at all - the only thing I said was I would like to get blah blah phone but I do not want to activate it yet and they would not let me leave the store with out activating the phone - gee whiz -
