Hi there,
I found a website that can compare the prepaid card.
http://www.myrateplan.com/wireless_prepaid/filter.php
However, I do not understand how it works.
The one I like is $100 for 365 days Cingular prepaid program.
Free long distance, no daily charge, free shipping, no roaming charge, emergency light use, 0.25 per minute.
Is this price ($0.25)consider cheap or reasonable?
Does that mean I can use 400 minutes in an year w/o refill?
Is there any plan better than this?
Do I need to pay monthly fee, acivate fee or other fees?
My friend use StiMobile prepaid phone and paid $3.0 per month, $0.10/0.12 per minutes.
He purchased $50.0 w/ no expiration day 6 months ago and still minutes left.
But they have terrible service which did not rebate as promissed online.
I am using t-mobile with contract now and would like to switch to prepaid phone since I do not use that many (I paid $50 per month for 1500 minutes).
Can I keep the phone number if I switch to the prepaid phone?
Do you know any prepaid program come with a free phone?
Thanks a lot.
Eva

I have a Cingular prepaid phone. I actually prefer our "Pay As You Go, Unlimited Mobile to Mobile" prepaid plan. On any day that you use the phone, you are charged a $1.00 access fee, but it is 10 cents per minute. I don't talk much, but when I do talk, I much prefer to pay 10 cents per minute. On days you do not use the phone you are not charged the 1.00 access fee. Plus it has unlimited Mobile-To-Mobile...so you are not charged a per minute charge for talking to other Cingular phones (but you will be charged the access fee still).
Those quarters can add up pretty fast...
To see both plans compared....
1) navigate to www.cingular.com
2) click on the "shop cingular" main menu button
3) on the Shop Cingular page, click the orange "go" button in the Rate Plans panel
4) enter your zip code and click on the orange "next" button
5) on the Rate Plans page, click on the "prepaid plans" tab

I signed tmobile last June but switched plan by Dec. 20 last year. They have terrible service that I did not get $250 rebate and they did not tell me I will be started over the contract when I switching the plan (This is my first cell and I did not know the rule). I decided to change carrier since then. The plan you have is pretty cool. Is there a expiration day for certain period? is there any monthly fee or other fee will be charged?
Thanks a lot.

Can you keep your old number when you switching the plan from year contract to the pay to go phone?
can I get a free phone for the pay to go plan?

evatao,
expiration dates:
$15.00 = 30 days
$25.00, $50.00, or $75.00 = 90 days
$100.00 = 365 days
if you do not refill before minutes expire, the money on your account is removed and you have 60 days before the phone number is deactivated.
if you DO refill BEFORE the minutes expire, whatever money was already on your account is added to the new refill amount.
I am not sure if you can keep your number.

I do not believe there are any free phones with prepaid phone plans. You can get some nice refubished phones for 29.99 and 34.99 at cingular.com, though, with the prepaid plans.
You may also be able to get your TMobile phone unlocked, but you'd have to call TMobile to see about that...and that does not always work right. It is best to buy a Cingular phone. I got mine at WalMart for $49.99, but my phone is a real cheap SonyEriccson J220A...it is great for making phone calls but does not play video or take pictures or play nice music, but I just wanted a basic phone.
