I have been treating the equip. insurance like any other feature -- i.e., I can add/remove it at will. As a matter of fact, a fellow was trying to strip his bill of all unneccessary charges and he decided he didn't want the insurance or roadside assistance. I promptly removed both.

I've often wondered how the insurance company can keep up with it all...since the feature can be added/deleted at will.

Going over a brochure about the equip insurance (reading the fine print), I notice that there is an official enrollment/cancellation procedure that appears to need to be done.

So, should any request to enroll/unenroll be xfrd to lockline(asurion)? And then what? Do the lockline reps call us and ask us to add/remove the feature???

That would make more sense from lockline's point of view...

What about roadside assistance? I've been adding/deleting that at will, too.

(when I say "at will"...I mean at the customer's request, of course)

yeah...i went and read CSP about "insurance"...it doesn't mention anything about having to alert the insurance company (though apparently the insurance company can add the feature as well?).

we do have to place a test call to the equipment and make sure it's on the eligible list (something that, imo, the computer should do!)

but what makes it real fun when you are makeing a test call to the device is they do not have the phone with them and the user does not answer and sends the call right to vm. Then you say sorry i can not add this feature at this time the user did not answer the phone so i can not verify that it is a working device

Cust ( insert cussing and yelling here )
