Anyone know whats going on? When I send mp3 or wav files to my chocolate using MMS, the files are automatically converted to qcp. Files of 200 to 300 KB are converted to QCP files of 20-30 KB. Ofcourse that much compression makes the sound crappy.
The problem is not speakers since the SAME MP3 bought from VCast sounds perfect. Its the conversion of mp3/wav to .qcp in an MMS that makes them sound so bad.
Any way out? I see a LOT of people on this group have complained about crappy ring tone quality, but no one seems to have a solution. What say spunk?
Thanks.

Solution found to crappy ringtone quality. Apparently .qcp is NOT an audio encoding format. just a data packaging file format.
So to prevent Verizon from converting MP3s to a different format in .qcp, just RENAME your mp3 to qcp before sending your MMS.
Then the file will not be compressed, or changed to qcp. The file will play as it is supposed to for a ringtone, just as songs from VCast play.
Perfect quality! Hope that helps.
Thanks.

i am using bluetooth to transfer music to my phone. Is there any way that i can make that music into a ringtone. cause in goes into My sounds folder. I have tried sending the file through text message and that works fine but i want to do it this way instead. I already have programs to make the ringtones its just when i take them from the computer they go into my sounds and then i cant do anything with them.

| Quote: | | you cant use the songs you put on your phone as ringtones becasue verison wants you to buy them, so what you do is go to http://www.mobile17.com and you can create your ringtones for free from the music on your computer. Its a really good site and how i get all my ringtones. It takes about an hour to get to your phone unless you pay and then it takes 1 minute or less(who would pay for an hour). You can also send pictures and videos(not for chocolate I dont think). Also i found a few weeks ago when i was makin all my ringtones they dont have the chocolate listed on their phone selection. BUT, i just chose the LG phone that comes with the blue cover. (it has all the same capabilities as the Chocolate pretty much) IT WORKS! and its great! |
mobile17 is a great site. A buddy of mine created it and runs it...he's a good kid. The chocolate is now listed and available on the site too.
