Well I have a question that's been bugging me all day. I'll try to make a long story short: my mom put my 8500 chocolate through the wash accidentally and while it could still call and retain some functionality, it was pretty much beat.

I was paying for phone protection, but Verizon basically said "We can't send the 8500 and we won't tell you why, here's the 8600 because I'm sure you'll like the fact that it looks like a RAZR, right?!"

Now I had e-mailed tons of ringers to my old phone, and I was a little annoyed that I would have to do it again (I have an SD card, but I can't seem to get sound clips from a microSD to be used as a ringer, and I suspect it's not possible without some serious hacking). But when I went to e-mail the clips to my phone, the message wouldn't go through. It connects just fine and then gives me the "could not receive message" error or something similar. I go to manually view the message and it still doesn't work. Did Verizon ban custom ringtones without the use of their rediculously useless Music Essentials kit on the 8600? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hey spunko, been reading your post and they are really helpful. I was hoping if you can help me with one thing. I'm using the wavepad to convert my music to ringtones but have no clue icon_wacko.gif to go about it. Can you give me the step of using wavepad to create ringtones?
thank ya

Can I just buy a USB cord for my phone on ebay. they have like 100 different kinds, or do I NEED the Verizon Music Essentials kit one?
