Thanks holtram3124 for the idea, however, when i woke up today and check my phone it somehow fixed itself. haha. So now i don't have to drive to Walmart and buy that card reader...

I just tried holtram3124's "phone it in" method on my 9900. It works great! Brilliant! Thanks...and I'm still waiting for my discount USB cable to arrive from Amazon.

hi
i am fairly new to this
i have read all 20 pages
and tried most of the ways without success (including holtram3124, spmassasin and spunko) and i tried the sites that were posted on previous pages as well...
i have the canadian Chocolate thru Telus (i really dont like them) with the microSD, with out the USB cord, it CAN recieve txt's and pix but it CAN'T recieve emails(i get afalure notice as soon as i send ne thing to my fone)
i tried holtram3124's method (im not sure if i did it right cause i found it hard to fallow) and i did not have the "set as ringtone" function
this is all really starting to frustrate me...
haha
any help that can find its way to me would be super!!
my email is Pyros_9_Eleven@hotmailDOTcom if any one just wants to send the info there (i couldnt URL my email adress so DOT=.

here's a question for all the brilliant problem solvers on this forum:
okay so bitpim worked fine for me the first time. and i didn't use it for a while then just a few days ago i wanted to add some new mp3 ringtones to my chocolate and for some weird reason it seems like it works- bitpim writes the ringtones to my phone but when i go into check them on the phone menu when i select 'my ringtones' my phone shuts off and restarts itself and then when i try going in again there are no new ringtones only the stock ringtones. and when i go into bitpim and check the filesystem and ringtone folder on my phone it shows the ringtones all saved in there but it seems as if my phone doesn't recognize that it has new stuff in it.
some of the things i tried to fix this problem:
-reset my phone
-uninstalled/reinstalled bitpim, updated bitpim
-rather than 'adding' the ringtones i 'replaced all'
-deleted what i saw in the file system and tried resending them to my phone again
-erasing my pictures in case there was not enough memory
NONE OF THESE THINGS WORKED!
it's like my ringtone folder is glitching.how do i fix that?
help.please.help
i know that i could use the email way and all but the thing that gets me is that bitpim worked the first time.i don't get it and i really didn't do anything that should make my phone glitch
WHY?

Ran into the same thing. I did a complete uninstall of the program (don't forget to go to "My Documents" and remove the "BitPim" folder), reinstalled the latest, and then created and uploaded a new ringtone USING THE REPLACE ALL option instead of the ADD.
All my previously uploaded ringtones were gone afterwards, but everything worked normally from that point on. I just re-created and uploaded my ringtones and have not had an issue since.

I read like 1000000 posts on how to do it and what to download. So anyhow, i called LG today and found out how to make the custom Mp3s.
(For the TG800F Chocolate. in Canada)
Rogers/Fido locks the option of creating your own ringtone so that you must buy the ones they sell (pretty annoying). So for the Canadians who noticed that it says "set as Mp3" in the manual, this is how to get that option back.
Plug your phone into the computer and open up the file. You SHOULD have 5 files MUSIC, PHOTOS, VIDEOS, OTHERS and RINGTUNES.
If you're like me, i didnt have the ringtune option.
In the folder showing all the other folders, go to Tools then go to Folder Options
Once that is open, open up the View tab.
Scroll down until you see the Hidden Files and Folders option
Then make sure the green button thing is on Show Hidden Files and Folders
Then press Apply and Ok
Then just drag and drop the files into there for the ringtunes and the option it says in the manuel will appear.
If someone already did this. sorry but i couldnt find anything for myself. hope this helps someone.
