but the song name is still in the list, when I try to play it no sound comes out. so the space is free but the file name is still their,
any ideas?
EDIT
I had to select "Replace all".
But now I have another problem that someone has already said about the big white borders around a image uploaded to the phone that gets set as wallpaper.
it seems when I add the photo to BitPim it resized the image, so their for when it is uploaded to the phone it is not big enough to be set as wallpaper. any advice?

Personally, I don't use Bitpim, so I had no idea that it would automatically resize the image. If you have a MicroSD card and a card reader, I suggest you upload it directly into the card instead of through Bitpim, that way no resizing occurs.
You can do the same thing if you have a USB cord for the phone, just don't do it through Bitpim.
If you have neither, just mail it to yourself (XXXXXXXXXX@vzwpix.com, where the x's are your 10 digit phone number).

As far as I know, it doesn't matter what email you use. I use my cable provider's email service, which works just fine. I'm assuming if you use Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, or any other web-based email, it shouldn't affect anything.

Beatriz: Try using the phone in sync mode (you'll find it in the My Music Menu), maybe then it will recognize the usb cord and the fact that something is trying to connect to it. Also, make sure the usb port you're using on your computer is working. I have like 6 usb ports on mine (2 front, 4 back), but only 1 front and 2 of the back ones connect properly. Try using other usb ports as well.
boulder omen: to be honest, I haven't tried sending a wallpaper straight through the usb, and I let a friend borrow my cord for a week, so I can't test it, but try this. Just like was mentioned above, try placing your phone in sync mode after you've connected to the computer. Instead of going to WMP though, go to My Computer and see if it's recognized as a flash drive or portable media player. If it is, you can just drag and drop your files to the appropriate directory in the phone. Hopefully that works.

I have read through all the threads on creating your own ring tone but I am still a little confused on one thing. When you creat a ring tone using whatever program, what do you save it as? MP3? WAV? I tried MP3 but when I send it to my phone it does not recognize it.
Thanks
Glen

Never mind, I figured it out. Save file as a .wav under 350K.
Nice!

You CAN send files larger than 350kb, however, the mp3 will be compressed. I sent a 25second long clip at 393k and sounds like complete crap. I have yet to try sending a ringtone below 350kb though. I'll keep you guys posted
