Hero, I concur! SWEET! Sorry for the delay get'n back to the forum. Your method worked! I want to THANK YOU Hero! You Rock!
Buggsy, Yes. you can use BitPim 1.0. That's what I used just now.
However, on Hero's instructions, he states to "Click Phone Book or something like that". Since he said, "Something like that", I chose to click on Wall Paper just to be safe cause I really didn't want to mess with my Contacts. I'm new to this stuff so it's kinda scary for me. Then I continued with his instructions. HOWEVER. just for kicks (to see what would happen) I DIDN'T do the step where he states to "Click the arrow pointing away from the phone". I skipped that step and did the drag and drop of my ringtones. WORKED LIKE A CHAMP! It was easy.
HERO IS THE MAN!

Okay, so I'm using WavePad and all of that. I use Gmail to send the attached clipped mp3 to my phone, and when it gets there, I can see that there's an attachment, but it doesn't play, and I don't know how to download the attachment from the message. Could anyone tell me how to do that?

so i just got the chocolate phone (tg800f)
but i keep running into the same problem for my ringtone
i have mp3 songs on my phone, and ive added the songs into my ringtune folder.
and when i go to my profile and set my ringtone i go to my mp3 folder in my ringtone list and set one of the songs that i uploaded onto my phone
it says that its set up and is now my ringtone but whenever someone calls me it plays some ringtone thats already on the phone
and when i go back to check what my ringtone is, it says its the mp3 song.
but it doesnt play!
does anyone how i can fix this? thanks alot!

This is of course for VZW customers. There's no need to go to a 3rd party.
L33t ~ your usb cable will plug into the power slot on phone and the usb port will of course go into your usb on computer. |
you would stick the cable into where you put in the charger or the headphones

Can someone help me out with Hero's instructions. They seem extremely easy, yet I am still having issues.
Anyways, I used bitpim to get ringtones to my phone when I got it back in January.but now it doesn't work because I had to get my phone replaced this past weekend. Everytime I try to do anything, I keep getting this error, "Failed to auto-detect the port to use. I couldn't detect any candidate ports."
WHAT does that mean!? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

rockerbaby418, did you download the latest version of Bitpim? If not, you must do so. It's Version 1.0.0. If you did and it still does't work, then that would mean:
a. Either you're still doing something wrong
or
b. Verizon maybe made yet another change to the chocolate phone and you'll have to wait till another later version of BitPim comes out to unlock that problem.

Yea, I did download the latest version.ugh, I hope they didn't change something again! Also, this is all with Bluetooth, right? Not the usb cable?
When I do the "phone wizard" when it gets to the ports part, all it says is "auto" or w/e.I can't see the "/dev/cu.LGVX8500-BTDIAG-1"?! I think this may be my problem.or, I dunno.I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything correctly.

rockerbaby418, ok good. you've got the latest version of BitPim.
Now... to use BitPim, you must use the cable that goes from the computer to your phone. To my knowlege the BlueTooth method won't work.

Ok. The bluetooth used to work for me, but at the moment I don't have a cable. Ordered one for cheap on ebay last night.I'll try this again when it comes, hopefully before the end of the week!
Thanks again!
