Download BitPim (free software) to convert the mp3s to ringtones, you can't just copy them to your card.
In order to transfer them to the phone you need to turn on the file system (View > View Filesystem) then it should work. This is what I had to do for my chocolate 2 (vx8550) phone

Please help! I've read everything and tried pretty much everything from downloading audacity to bitpim. I even tried emailing myself the ringtone as posted on this forum but none of them worked. I even tried the view file method but none of them work.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong! Is it because I'm with Telus in Canada? Everytime I try to send the data through Bitpim, it gives me a big long error message and suggests that I abort bitpim. When I try to manually drag and drop the .mp3 ringtone that is only 100kb to the view file-mr folder, it goes in and my phone starts dialing crazy numbers but it doesn't show up on my phone! Please help! I'd really appreciate it!
