BTW.
I was able to succesfully crop my mp3 ringtones in BitPim. First I imported the mp3 into bitpim, then I cropped it, double clicked it to play in itunes, then convert file (cropped version) to mp3 which put the edited mp3 in my itunes folder, deleted the oroginal file in bitpim and then re imported the cropped mp3 back into bitpim and send to phone....voila!

I use the txt msg method.
From an email account, send a msg with a ringtone attached (ringtone should be <350 kb) to XXXXXXXXXX@vzwpix.com. (The 10 X's representing your phone number)
Here's the interesting part. I sent that message and received it nearly 11 hours later!
For some odd reason, if I send a plain txt message to myself from the PC, I can receive it in about a minute.
But you do have to be patient with the VZWPIX method.
(And just so you know, don't send 10-20 msgs to yourself in fustration. I did that and ended up receiving 15 copies of the same song at that 11 hr mark )

I'd like to start by saying this forum has been extremely helpful so far but I still seem to be having a problem dropping the mp3's into bitpim and then transferring them to my Chocolate. I am editing the songs with Audacity, exporting them as MP3's and then retrieving them through the Ringer(add ringer) process in bitpim. I also have downloaded lame. Bitpim has recognized everything about my phone (model, ESN, number, etc.) yet it does not seem to be properly sending the ringers to my phone. When I hit send to phone my phone dials 7 numbers and bitpim says transferring is done and that is it. I cannot find the new ringers anywhere on my phone, what am I doing wrong? I have the USB cable and if i try to sync when I send I get a port error. Any help would be appreciated with this b/c the email method doesn't sound very good on my phone. Thanks a lot!!

BLUETOOTH PREFS....WAS NEVER ABLE TO GET THE USB CABLE TO WORK SUCCESFULLY
BITPIM INTERFACE ON MY MAC
AFTER BOOTING BITPIM..... RUN PHONE WIZARD
BLUETOOTH ROCKS-BE SURE TO SELECT THE CORRECT PORT SETTING
YOU MUST 'PASS'
SEND THE RINGTONES YOU HAVE UPLOADED....SELECT ADD NOT REPLACE
AFTER BOOTING BIITPIM WITH BLUETOOTH ON BOTH DEVICES -ON , BP STILL DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE PHONE, I MUST RUN PHONE WIZARD AND 'PASS'.
MY RINGTONES HAVE ALREADY BEEN LOADED INTO BITPIM 'RINGERS' AND IN THE UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER....SELECT SEND DATA TO PHONE.
ALSO WHEN I SELECT THE RINGERS DIRECTORY A MUSIC NOTE APPEARS WITH + SIGN. THATS HOW YOU ADD RINGTONES TO THE DIRECTORY
BP ALSO ALLOWS YOU TO ADJUST THE VOLUME + OR - IN VOLUME. I GOT FILES THAT WERE TOO LOUD AND DISTORTED ON THE PHONE TO SOUND BETTER BY USING - 2 OR -3 IN THE CROP SECTION WHEN UPLOADING MP3'S TO BP.
I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS SENDING DATA FROM PHONE TO BP
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PORT SETTING WHEN USING THE USB CABLE OR TRY THE DIFFERENT PORTS LISTED UNTIL THE PHONE 'PASSES'
Hope this helps...Good luck
