hi... just wanna say first, i did read all 8 pages already.

i noticed somone posted something about the ma-730 bluetooth data suite? no one answered...
well i bought it, and it kinda works. i can send and receive contact information with the phone. i can clip mp3 files. i can send them to my phone. (i have the chocolate). but. it only sends them to the my sounds file, the one with the beethoven and train sounds on it, and there are no options to save them as a ringtone. but that's about all that software does.

i downloaded bitpim, but it wont recognize my phone. there are no communications port that say lg on them. while it is attempting to connect, my phone says "check status of receiving device", and bitpim says connection failed. anyone know how i can fix this? i'm connecting through bluetooth, on a pc. there is no bluetooth folder in the control panel.

do you have a messaging plan?

the vzwpix method works really well

the first time i tried it, it took 11 hrs for the songs to make the transition to my phone

yesterday, it took all of 3 minutes

might be easier than fiddling with the bluetooth method!

Ok, so I downloaded the Wavepad software. I can open a song and play it, the problem is I have no idea how to edit the song to the part I want. If someone can help me, that'll be great.

Hey Spunko and all,

Remember from Page 5 about how the wavepad program was time sensitive (free trial period), all u have to do to get around it is just uninstall it and then when u go to the main web page, just hit run not save and keep doing that over and over.

Awesome program and very easy to use.

I thought i rememberd ther was a feature in audacity to increase the volume of the ringtone? My ringotnb isnt too lound...only way i can hear it sometimes in a crowded place is when it vibrates...

and how do u get wallpapers from ur computer to the chocolate? I tried resizing them myself but they always convert to another size (178x something) and they dont take up the full csreen in the chocolate but only part of the screen...is there a way to have full csreen wallpapers form ur computer to the chocolate

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread, everything works wonderful for me.

Just one tiny thing, which may sound like a stupid question: it seems that I am having difficulty deleting items off my phone for some reason. I go into the "get tunes & tones" menu to delete songs in "my music" or to delete ringtones in "my ringtones" but only the data is deleted, not the entry itself. How do I delete the data AND the whole line? Thanks a bunch, guys.

Read through all the pages, and I didn't see anyone mention this problem: RINGTONE VOLUME.

I've used both Audacity and Nero Wave Editor. I'm using the txt message ringtones to yourself way.

PROBLEM: Even with the volume on the highest setting in Audacity, it's still doesn't play very loud on my Chocolate. WHHHYY?? The ringtones that you can buy for $2.99 are much louder. Even with the ringer setting on Medium High or High, when someone calls, the ringtone is still on an unacceptably low volume level. Can someone help me fix this volume problem?

The problem there is in the definition of terms.

I understand what you mean by turning up the volume in Audacity, but you're doing the wrong thing.

What you need to do is turn up the AMPLIFICATION. Look for a little slider or numerical value measured by decibels (-db). Turn that up, but NOT VERY MUCH. This increases the general decibel level of the song, therefore making that song play loud on ANYTHING. Turn it up too much though, and you'll not only lose sound quality, but you might end up blowing out a speaker.

Turning up the volume in Audacity just makes it louder through your computer. Same thing on your phone. If you want to increase the volume through any format, increase the amplification. Try that out and see if your phone plays the song louder.

P.S. This is officially the 100th post on this thread icon_smile.gif
