I have seen variations of my question on here, but am still stuck: I have an LG VX 8300, a 1G micro SD card, and windows media player. I've followed instructions on various posts to enable the phone to play mp3s and to format the card. When I put the card in the printer slot, the computer displays the appropriate folders (my pix, my mp3s, etc.). I have tried putting music on the card, and believe I have done so, but when I put the card in the phone, I get the message NO SONGS IN MEMORY. I have tried to play using both the play button on the front, and my mp3s. It feels as though there is one obvious thing I'm missing here, and I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can figure it out. Thanks!

You may already have tried this, but what worked for me on the Phone was going to Menu->Get it Now->Get Tunes and Tones-> Sync Music then the phone shows up as a supported device. If you have already tried this then I hope something else gets you past the frustration..

I think you need to go through the sync process, there is a conversion that is done to the song during that process, probably some bit rate reduction.

I even bought the Verizon music essentials kit, but I still wasn't successful, e.g. I was able to get a few songs from my library onto the phone, but not onto the card. It looked as though a new folder was created called "Music," and the songs went in there. I then tried moving them to the my_music, and also to the my_mp3 folders, but still kept getting the same message when I put the card in the phone- NO SONGS IN MEMORY. I finally called Verizon last night, and the person gave me different things to try (some of the above), but nothing has worked yet. He ended up offering to talk to his younger brother, who does this routinely, and find out how he does it. He's supposed to call me back after this. I do think there must be some conversion issue I am missing, among other things- I looked in explorer, and the majority of my songs are wma, maybe there's also a file length issue as well? Anyway, from reading and re-reading this forum, it seems as though others have gotten past all that, so I'm not sure why I'm still stuck! It's a Dell computer with Windows XP, and WMP 10. I use a non-iPod mp3 player, so that is not part of the equation. Thanks again for any assistance.

I haven't been able to sync my phone either. When I pres sync with windows media player 10 open Windows finds a new device and cant find the drivers, just like the problem others are having. I have been able to load MP3's onto my memory card though.
What is the use of the Music Essentials kit if it doesn't allow you to put you own music on the phone? Like everyone is going to pay $1.99 per song from Verizon? Give me a break, even itunes is cheaper.

I found the answer. And did I feel stupid. Once you put the LG Drivers in all you do is go to the Menu of the phone, select GET IT NOW and Select Get Tunes & Music, frin there go to #6 Sync Music. The Windows Media Player will see you device.
That is it, easy... I promise

There has been a known issue that doesn't seem to have a resolution yet for LG phones not syncing properly with some WMP. If everything has been done correctly, try it on a different computer and see if it works there. Preferably a computer in which the OS was not installed from the same disc yours was.

Glenh2nd, if your phone syncs properly with WMP you certainly can put your own music on there. During the sync, the copy synced to the phone will change to WMA but the copy on your PC will stay the same format. WMP recognizes your device but cannot find the drivers? If you go into your Device Manager, does your device show up there with any yellow question marks/exclamation points or red x's?
